  • Twins' Hendry Mendez: Joins 40-man roster

The Twins selected Mendez's contract from Double-A Wichita on Tuesday. Mendez spent all of 2025 in Double-A, posting a .299/.399/.439 slash line with 11 homers, 62 RBI, 68 runs scored and 10 steals over 491 plate appearances between Philadelphia's and Minnesota's affiliates. Now the owner of a 40-man roster spot, the 22-year-old doesn't have to worry about being selected in the Rule 5 Draft and can now focus on reaching Triple-A St. Paul sometime in 2026.

  • Twins' Hendry Mendez: Sent to Twins in Bader trade

The Phillies traded Mendez to the Twins on Thursday alongside right-handed pitcher Geremy Villoria in exchange for Harrison Bader, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Mendez has spent all of 2025 with the Phillies' Double-A affiliate, where he slashed .290/.374/.434 with eight homers, 46 RBI and 44 runs scored through 349 plate appearances. The 21-year-old outfielder will likely head to Double-A Wichita upon joining his new organization and could receive a promotion to Triple-A St. Paul before the end of the year.

  • Phillies' Hendry Mendez: Heads to Philly in trade

The Phillies acquired Mendez and Robert Moore from the Brewers on Tuesday in exchange for Oliver Dunn. Mendez spent the majority of the 2023 season with the High-A affiliate of the Brewers, slashing .236/.307/.326 with three home runs across 62 games in the Midwest League. He can play all three outfield spots and just turned 20 years old but still has a lot to work on offensively.

  • Brewers' Hendry Mendez: Back on IL

Mendez is back on the 7-day injured list with High-A Wisconsin. He missed four weeks from mid-April to early-May with an undisclosed injury and only played in five games before ending up back on the injured list. Mendez, 19, is one of the youngest hitters at High-A and has been exactly league average (100 wRC+) while slashing .227/.370/.273 with zero home runs, zero steals and a 6:5 K:BB in 27 plate appearances.

  • Brewers' Hendry Mendez: Returns from IL

Mendez (undisclosed) went 1-for-2 with walk in Saturday's 7-3 loss to Peoria after High-A Wisconsin reinstated him from the 7-day injured list earlier in the day. Mendez appeared in four games for Wisconsin before he was placed on the IL on April 20 due to the unspecified issue, but he didn't miss extensive time before being activated. The 19-year-old outfielder is regarded as one of the better lower-level prospects in the Milwaukee system.

  • Brewers' Hendry Mendez: Back in action for Carolina

Mendez (head) was cleared to rejoin Single-A Carolina's lineup Saturday and has gone 0-for-6 with a pair of walks and a run in his first two games since returning to action. Mendez was sidelined for approximately two weeks after he was briefly hospitalized following his involvement in a collision with the outfield wall in a July 31 game. The 18-year-old looks to have avoided a major injury and subsequently passed all concussion testing, clearing the way for him to play for Carolina without requiring a rehab assignment beforehand. One of the youngest players in the Carolina League, Mendez is slashing .254/.364/.329 with four home runs and seven stolen bases in 363 plate appearances on the season.

  • Brewers' Hendry Mendez: Will be released from hospital

Mendez (head) is scheduled to be discharged from a hospital Monday after he was held overnight for observation following his departure Sunday for Single-A Carolina's game against Fayetteville. Mendez was involved in a scary collision with the right-field fence early in Sunday's game and needed to be carted off the field. Carolina hasn't provided a firm diagnosis for Mendez, but it wouldn't be surprising if he was dealing with a concussion and/or another upper-body injury. The 18-year-old outfielder is slashing .259/.366/.336 with four home runs and seven stolen bases for the Single-A club this season, with his production rendered more impressive by the fact that he's one of the youngest players in the Carolina League.

  • Brewers' Hendry Mendez: Carted off field Sunday

Mendez was removed in the bottom of the second inning Sunday of Single-A Carolina's 5-4 win over Fayetteville after his head and shoulder collided with right-field wall while he was flagging down a fly ball, Jim Goulart of BrewerFanatic.com reports. Mendez looked as though he was able to move his extremities after the collision, but he was placed on a backboard and stretched off the field. Before departing, the 18-year-old -- who is one of the Carolina League's youngest players -- recorded a single in his lone at-bat to give him 18 hits in his last 19 games. The outfielder is hitting .260 with four home runs and a 14 percent walk rate across 355 plate appearances on the season.

  • Brewers' Hendry Mendez: Hits walkoff grand slam

Mendez went 2-for-3, walked twice and hit a walkoff grand slam in Friday's game with Single-A Carolina. The long ball was the second of the season for the 18-year-old, who is seeing action at the Single-A level for the first time. He got off to a slow start, but he has picked up the pace, recording a .907 OPS over his last nine games. The youngster -- one of the Brewers' top prospects -- has shown a good eye at the plate all season, posting a .403 OBP over 134 plate appearances.
