Player Outlook
As the Marlins continue to accumulate young outfield talent, Kemp Alderman's path to an early 2026 MLB debut is becoming less clear. However, he had an impressive and under-the-radar run at Triple-A to close 2025 that makes him a nice flyer in dynasty and draft-and-hold leagues. Alderman, who made a name for himself with his exit velocities at the 2023 draft combine, may have just been beating up on worn down late-season pitching at Triple-A, but he managed a .303 average, seven home runs, two steals and a 160 wRC+ in 20 games. His .333 BABIP and 26.8 percent strikeout rate don't sound any alarms, given the amount of damage he can do. Prior to getting to Triple-A, Alderman hammered 15 homers with 20 steals and a 130 wRC+ in 110 games at Double-A. He cut his groundball rate from 54.2 percent at Double-A to 36.4 percent at Triple-A to unlock the power breakout. Alderman is an average defender in right field, thanks to a plus arm and solid speed for a player his size. While the Marlins have four or five power-first corner outfielders on the roster, Alderman fits right in with that group and has the talent to emerge with a regular role by season's end.

  • Marlins' Kemp Alderman: Healthy again at Single-A

Alderman (hand) has gone 2-for-13 with two RBI and a run scored in four games since returning from Single-A Jupiter's 7-day injured list Thursday. Alderman had been on Jupiter's IL all season with a fractured left hand, but he was cleared to join the club last week after completing a five-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League. The 21-year-old outfielder slashed .205/.286/.316 with a home run and four stolen bases over 133 plate appearances for Jupiter in his first professional season in 2023.
