Travis Blackley: Gets cut by Tigers
Blackley was released by the Tigers on Saturday, Evan Woodbery of the MLive Media Group reports.
The Tigers didn't have any room for Blackley in their organization and were left with no option but to part ways with the 34-year-old southpaw. Blackley hasn't appeared in the show since 2013 and won't offer much apart from organizational depth if a team opts to pick him up.

Tigers' Travis Blackley: Strong showing against China
Blackley threw 4.2 scoreless innings in a win over China on Thursday, allowing two hits while striking out two batters.
The bats for Team Australia provided plenty of support, putting up 11 runs to help even its record at 1-1 in WBC play. Blackley signed a minor league contract with the Tigers this winter after spending the 2016 season in Mexico. He has not appeared in the majors since 2013.
