Reds' Scott Feldman: Shifts to 60-day DL
Feldman (knee) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Sunday, Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Feldman was already ruled out for the season after undergoing season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right knee days earlier, so his move to the 60-day DL is merely a formality. The transaction will open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Tyler Mahle, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Louisville in advance of his scheduled start Sunday against the Pirates.

Reds' Scott Feldman: Season over after surgery Tuesday
Feldman underwent season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Tuesday.
This is a tough break for Feldman, who has been bothered by knee issues for most of the season. Rather than try to pitch through the recurring knee soreness, Feldman decided to cut his losses and focus on getting healthy for next season. The 34-year-old will finish the season with an unremarkable 4.77 ERA and 1.36 WHIP through 111.1 innings (21 starts). He's a free agent in the offseason.

Reds' Scott Feldman: Returns to disabled list
Feldman was placed back on the 10-day DL with right knee inflammation following Thursday's start against the Cubs.
The right-hander was clearly still feeling the affects of a nagging knee injury that has been plaguing him for much of the 2017 campaign. Feldman was activated off the DL on Aug. 12, and made two sub-par starts before heading back prior to Friday's game. There doesn't appear to be a clear cut timetable for Feldman at this point, while he admitted that he's "not really feeling too confident" about the knee injury at this point in time. It seems likely that the club will slide Asher Wojciechowski into the rotation in his place.

Reds' Scott Feldman: Bothered again by knee soreness
Feldman dealt with renewed knee soreness during Thursday's start against the Cubs, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. "If it doesn't get any better, I don't think I can pitch like that anymore," Feldman said. "We'll see."
The right-hander went on to admit that he's "not really feeling too confident" about the knee. He's been bothered by knee soreness for the entire season, but the discomfort finally got bad enough after the All-Star break to force him to the DL. The injury has been affecting his velocity, and while it bounced back in his first start off the DL last week, Feldman's fastball was sitting in the low-80s Thursday. He may not throw another pitch for the Reds.

Reds' Scott Feldman: Surrenders five homers in no-decision
Feldman allowed six runs on seven hits while striking out just a single batter through 3.2 innings during Thursday's win over the Cubs. He didn't factor into the decision.
The 34-year-old veteran allowed three runs through just four innings to Milwaukee in his return from the disabled list last time out, and this was another abbreviated outing. Feldman allowed five home runs to the Cubs to open the flood gates after being handed a nine-run lead in the second inning. The righty sports a 4.77 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 7.5 K/9, so it's probably wise to be selective with his matchups and avoid him against daunting opponents in the immediate future. Feldman projects to face the Cubs again in his next start, but this time the game is at Great American Ball Park.

Feldman gave up three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out six over four innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Saturday.
He was greeted harshly by Milwaukee in his return from a knee injury, with three runs scoring on a Travis Shaw homer before Feldman recorded his second out. The pitch count crept up in a hurry and that resulted in one of his earliest non-injury-related exits of the season. Feldman pitched surprisingly well over the first three months, but home runs are a growing concern, and he lines up to face the Cubs in back-to-back starts next.

Reds' Scott Feldman: Confirmed as Saturday's starter
Feldman (knee) has been confirmed to start Saturday against the Brewers, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
It will be the right-hander's first action since he was placed on the DL back in July due to an ailing right knee, and should initiate his full return to the rotation in place of Tim Adleman. Feldman was mashed for nine earned runs over his last two starts before heading to the disabled list, so he'll be looking to make a strong return following a steady progression in his rehab, though he does own a 5.40 ERA in a pair of outings against Milwaukee this year.

Robert Stephenson has made the last two turns in the rotation for Feldman and would likely start again August 2 against the Pirates if Feldman isn't deemed ready to go by then.

Reds' Scott Feldman: No surgery necessary
Feldman had a second opinion on his knee inflammation, which confirmed that he will not need surgery, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports.
Instead, the Reds will rely upon rest and rehab in bringing Feldman along. "At this point, it sounds as if we can go with a treatment-only approach, strengthen his quad, which will support and take some pressure off of his knee, and getting the pain under control," manager Bryan Price said.
