Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram, the consensus top two picks in the 2016 NBA Draft, are among 14 players that have been reportedly invited to attend the draft in the green room.
According to Jonathan Givony of The Vertical, Simmons and Ingram will join Dragan Bender, Kris Dunn, Buddy Hield and other top prospects. Here's the full list.
Wade Baldwin, Vanderbilt
Dragan Bender, Maccabi Tel Aviv
Jaylen Brown, Cal
Marquese Chriss, Washington
Deyonta Davis, Michigan State
Kris Dunn, Providence
Henry Ellenson, Marquette
Buddy Hield, Oklahoma
Brandon Ingram, Duke
Skal Labissiere, Kentucky
Jamal Murray, Kentucky
Jakob Poeltl, Utah
Domantas Sabonis, Gonzaga
Ben Simmons, LSU
In the past, there were often 20-25 players invited to the combine, but according to Givony, the NBA has cut down on that list this season due to the uncertainty that engulfs this draft. Simply put, there is so much uncertainty beyond the top two selections that it's difficult to tell if players ranked outside of the consensus top 10 will be drafted in the first round or will fall to Round 2.
This 14-player list features very little in the way of surprises. There is no player outside of the CBS Sports Top 17 on this list, and all 14 are expected to be clear first-round picks.
