The NBA offseason is officially under way, and there is no shortage of intriguing questions surrounding a deep 2016 free agent class. The moratorium period, when teams can begin negotiating with players but prevents free agents from signing deals, begins July 1 at 12:01 a.m. and runs through July 6. So while contract agreements can be reached at any point after July 1, new deals cannot be made official until July 7 (12:01 a.m.) at the earliest.
Also new this year is the increased salary cap, which has risen from $70 million to $94 million, giving teams even more money to throw at free agents. This means we should see plenty of signings in what should be a crazy summer of spending.
