Betting preview for Tuesday, Feb. 10

No. 7 Nebraska has lost two of its past three games and faces a 13th-ranked Purdue squad that has won its past two. Both losses for the Cornhuskers (21-2, 10-2 in Big Ten) came against top 10 teams, and they rebounded with an 80-68 victory at Rutgers on Saturday. The Boilermakers (19-4, 9-3) routed Maryland by 30 points and beat Oregon 68-64 on Saturday to put a three-game losing streak behind them. The Cornhuskers are favored at home by 1.5 points, and the SportsLine Projection Model has them covering in 51% of the simulations. The model does have a strong play on the Over, as Over 148.5 points earns a "B" grade for hitting in a whopping 71.6% of simulations.

In other top-25 action, third-ranked Houston is a 16.5-point favorite at Utah, and the model also likes the Over, which is set at 142.5, as it hits 67.6% of the time. No. 8 Illinois hosts Wisconsin in another Big Ten battle, and the Badgers are covering as 11.5-point underdogs in 53% of simulations. Two ACC teams are in Florida, with 11th-ranked North Carolina visiting Miami, where they are favored by just 1.5 points, and No. 15 Virginia is at FSU and are 7.5-point road favorites.

The model has an "A" grade on Over 210.5 in Rockets vs. Clippers, where Houston is favored by 7.5 points. The Rockets (32-19) stopped a two-game slide by winning at Oklahoma City on Saturday, though OKC was without star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Now they play two in Los Angeles against the Clippers (25-27). L.A. has won six of its past nine and routed the Timberwolves 115-96 in Minneapolis on Sunday. The Rockets are fourth in the Western Conference, while the Clippers are 10th and have ground to make up if they are to make the playoffs. The Over is hitting in 67.6% of simulations, as the SportsLine model's projected score pushes this one past 220 points.
