Small forward Gigi Datome, who saw the first action of his NBA career last season with the Celtics, has decided to return to Europe, signing a three-year deal with the Turkish club Fenerbahce, per the Boston Herald.
Datome 5.2 points in 10.7 minutes over the 18 games he played in Boston, but was part of a roster squeeze as the team addressed its frontcourt.
"I want to thank all of the NBA teams that offered me a spot on the roster, but as I said many times, I was looking for a place where I could be (an) important piece to the rotations," Datome wrote on his Facebook page.
