James Herbert joins me on Monday's podcast to discuss the wonderment that was the near quadruple-double performance by New Orleans Pelicans' star Anthony Davis in Sunday's brutal double overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets. Despite an incredible line of 36 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and nine blocks, Davis and his teammates received a bad loss to the Nuggets and fell a full game behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. Did they blow that game by not going to Davis down the stretch? Is it possible that Davis isn't even very good on offense and his improvement coupled with the insane production he has anyway ends up starting the revolution?
Speaking of the race for the playoffs in the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder reportedly are receiving some harsh news with Serge Ibaka needing a knee procedure to alleviate some soreness. We don't know how long he'll be out just quite yet, but how do the Thunder survive without their rim protector? They have depth inside but can the young trio of Steven Adams, Mitch McGary, and Enes Kanter do enough inside to cushion his loss? Will the return of Kevin Durant cure all of these ailments?
We discuss all of this, plus Arron Afflalo's new role with the Portland Trail Blazers, the derailed comeback of Paul George to the Indiana Pacers, and preview tonight's games.
