Wednesday NBA betting preview

The Dallas Mavericks host the Miami Heat, with Dallas entering on its first winning streak of the season. The Mavericks defeated the Clippers, 114-110, on Saturday before knocking off the Nuggets, 131-121, on Monday with Cooper Flagg and Anthony Davis alternating with 30-point performances. Flagg had a career-high 35 points against the Clippers, and he's now averaging 17 points per game after a slow scoring start. Davis' 32 points and 13 rebounds against the Nuggets came in his second game back from missing a month with a calf injury.

The Mavericks are 7-15 this season, while Miami enters at 14-7 on the year. Dallas is 3-4 with Davis on the floor, though, as a significantly different team with or without him. The Heat have won seven of their last eight games, including a 106-102 win over Dallas in Miami on Nov. 24. For NBA betting, the Heat are favored by 4.5 points in the latest Wednesday NBA odds at Fanatics Sportsbook. Other intriguing Wednesday NBA matchups include the Clippers vs. Hawks (-3.5) and Pistons (-4.5) vs. Bucks. Use the latest Fanatics Sportsbook promo code CBSFAN here:

Wednesday college basketball betting preview

Day Two of the ACC/SEC Challenge takes place on Wednesday with a six-game slate, after nine non-conference games between the two leagues on Tuesday. The Wednesday slate includes No. 6 Louisville vs. No. 25 Arkansas, Clemson vs. No. 11 Alabama (-11) and Virginia vs. Texas (-2.5). Louisville is off to a 7-0 start, but this will be its first true road game of the season. Arkansas is 5-2 overall, including 5-0 at home. The Cardinals do have an SEC victory this season, though, knocking off Kentucky, 96-88, at home. Arkansas has played one ACC team this year, falling to No. 4 Duke, 80-71, in Chicago on Thanksgiving.

John Calipari enters his second season at Arkansas after a 22-win season and reaching the Sweet 16 last year. Louisville went 27-8 last year, but lost in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Arkansas had the No. 5-ranked Class of 2025, according to 247Sports, with Calipari working his magic again in recruitment. For college basketball betting, Louisville is favored by 2.5 points in the latest Wednesday college basketball odds at Fanatics Sportsbook, led by senior guard Ryan Conwell, who is averaging 20.1 ppg this season. Claim the latest Fanatics Sportsbook promo code CBSFAN here:

Week 14 NFL betting preview

Sports bettors have one more night of a reprieve from NFL action on Wednesday after a wild Thanksgiving weekend slate, but that doesn't mean it needs to be a day off from NFL betting. You can often find the best odds earlier in the week, before the market corrects itself or injuries and news alter spreads and totals, and early-week NFL betting offers the chance at some closing-line value, depending on how the numbers move throughout the week. For example, the Packers are 6.5-point favorites against the Bears on Sunday, and if there is enough betting interest on Green Bay, that spread could move to seven points. A play at -6.5 is far more appealing than at -7, so if you like the Packers to win by a touchdown, you may not want to wait.

Conversely, if you like the Bears to cover, it may be in your best interest to wait to see if the number moves to seven. The spread could adjust in either direction, though, so given the unknowns of the betting market over the week, early betting can be a valuable NFL betting strategy. The Bears are the current No. 1 seed in the NFC at 9-3, but the Packers (8-3-1) can move into first in the division with a win. Use the latest Fanatics Sportsbook promo code CBSFAN here:
