The 2012 NBA Free Agency moratorium period began Sunday morning at midnight. Between Sunday and Monday the 11th, teams are allowed to contact and negotiate with players, but not sign them until the 11th. That means meetings! And interest! And lots and lots of "reports" and "sources."

  • Yahoo Sports reports that the Bobcats are "very interested" and will host Antawn Jamison this week. Jamison would likely come at an affordable price and gives the Bobcats a veteran who can show the kids how to act in this league. His shortcomings are covered by much of the Cats' roster and God knows Tyrus Thomas needs a role model. This would be a great pickup for them, for the right price.
  • ESPN reports Ray Allen will visit Miami on Thursday and the Clippers on Friday. Barring a huge offer from the Clippers, it's likely Allen could make up on his mind on a Miami vs. Boston vs. Memphis decision by the end of the weekend.
  • The Indianapolis Star reports that Chris Kaman is the favorite to replace Roy Hibbert if the Pacers don't match Portland's max offer for Roy Hibbert. Kaman met with the Pacers Monday after nearly being traded to Indiana at the deadline.
  • The Los Angeles Times reports that Jamal Crawford will meet with the Clippers on Tuesday. Crawford would fill the bench scoring role the Lakers have been pursuing. He can likely be obtained for the kind of price range the Clippers are looking at, but Crawford will have several offers and the Clippers could get priced out if someone gets desperate. The Bulls are among the teams exploring an offer for Crawford.
