OKLAHOMA CITY -- Spurs shooting guard Gary Neal missed his team's flight to Oklahoma City on Tuesday, then missed his team's shootaround Wednesday because of an illness. But he's still expected to play in Game 6, said Gregg Popovich.
“He’ll get in this afternoon, fly in,” Popovich said. “If it changes, we’ll know later, but he says he feels better.”
As for what Neal is dealing with, Popovich didn't know.
“I don’t know,” he said. “Internal bug, a bug kind of thing. He’s been getting some IV stuff.”
Neal struggled in Game 5 going 0-6 from the floor. However, despite his struggles, Neal is a key part of the Spurs second unit. He adds a scoring option, runs backup point guard and is a threat to hit a cluster of shots at any time.
He's averaging 7.5 points and 1.4 assists per game in the Western Conference finals but is shooting only 37.5 percent from the field.
