Lakers coach Byron Scott wants to keep guard Jabari Brown a little while longer.
Signed to a 10-day contract at the moment, Brown has appeared in three games and has averaged 7.0 points per game. However, Wednesday's game against the Jazz will mark the final day of Brown's contract.
"Right now, I’d like to keep him for another 10 days and see how it goes," Scott said, via Inside the Lakers. "I think he’s improved from what we had in the summer time to this time right now."
Scott has been impressed with Brown's aggressiveness since being called up from the NBA Development League. Out of camp last fall, Brown didn't make the Lakers' roster because Scott didn't think the young guard was being aggressive enough on the court.
“He kept that in the back of his mind and revealed it the first day he had a chance to play,” Scott said. “He took it real well. He was wondering what were some of the things he had to do to get better like most young guys. I told him, ‘I didn’t see the aggressive part of you until the last preseason game or two. You have to have that attitude from day one as soon as you step on the court, just be aggressive and be physical in attacking the basket and get your shot off.’”
