If you follow Matthew Dellavedova on Snapchat, you already know that the Cleveland Cavaliers guard is a big fan of Panera Bread. Dellavedova digs their menu so much that he recently worked at a Cleveland location of the popular chain restaurant.
Dellavedova put on a disguise and said his name was "Hugh" to try and fool customers. However, his shift didn't last that long as people instantly identified him:
Dellavedova was masquerading as a Panera Bread employee because he partnered with the chain for a promotion called "Dinner with Delly," where the grand prize winner would have a nice sit down meal with the Cavs guard. Cleveland area Paneras also renamed their turkey sandwich (Dellavedova's favorite), calling it the "Delly Pick" in honor of him. Proceeds from sales of the sandwich from May 1 - June 15 went to the Boys and Girls Club.
"We are such big fans of Matthew and this is a special partnership for us. We wanted to provide our customers with an exciting opportunity, and we couldn't think of anyone better for the job. Matthew has embraced Cleveland as his home and we are proud to welcome him into our Panera Bread family," Sam Covelli, Owner/Operator of Covelli Enterprises said in a release.
Partnering to create a charitable sandwich and working behind the counter, Dellavedova is truly part of the Panera Bread family.
