Mike Brown may be head coach for the Warriors on an interim basis, but one would think he'd be recognizable enough at this point to not have to worry about security by his own building. However, that's exactly what happened when he pulled up to Oracle Arena for this evening's game. Brown got pulled over police and had to make room for a bus that turned out to have the Spurs on it.
What Brown wasn't expecting was a phone call from Spurs coach Gregg Popovich right after his almost arrest by police. For Popovich, what just happened to Brown was the funniest thing he'd seen all day. Brown recounted his story at media availability to explain to the media why he was late.

Poor Brown was just trying to get into the arena, but at least his story made for a funny moment with media and a former co-worker of his. Brown used to work with Popovich and he was definitely the last person Pop expected to see pulled over as he was trying to get into his own building.
Luckily nothing particularly egregious happened and this was a laugh for all involved. It also gave Brown a great excuse for showing up late and having one of those is always necessary no matter the job. It probably won't work the second time around however. Bosses never believe it the second time.
