Before you enter a daily fantasy basketball tournament for NBA action on Sunday, February 25, you need to hear what professional DFS player Mike McClure has to say. McClure has more than $1 million in career DFS winnings and is rolling through the NBA season, already cashing multiple tournament and cash game rosters.
He has been able to do all that thanks to some spot-on picks.
On Saturday, McClure locked in Timberwolves small forward Andrew Wiggins at just $6,200 on FanDuel. The result: He went for 23 points and a pair of assists and rebounds -- returning 32.4 DFS points, his best performance in the past month.
Anybody who had him on their roster was well on their way to a huge DFS night.
For the two-game Sunday night NBA slate, McClure is all over Nuggets center Mason Plumlee as a value pick at $4,600 on FanDuel and $4,400 on DraftKings.
Plumlee is fully recovered from a recent calf injury that cost him eight games, and he looked strong on Friday night against the Spurs, scoring 12 points in just 21 minutes.
With Paul Millsap (wrist) still on the shelf, Plumlee is a nice value play who should have plenty of opportunities this evening to pay off his low price against the Houston Rockets.
If you roster Plumlee, you'll have plenty of cap room for a huge star like Rockets point guard Chris Paul, who is $8,900 on FanDuel and $8,700 on DraftKings.
Paul should thrive in a fast-paced matchup against the Nuggets tonight and is a great bet to put up huge numbers in both scoring and assists. He pushed for a triple-double against Minnesota on Friday and he very well could do the same tonight in a game that has the highest over-under (226.5) of any game on the Sunday schedule.
McClure is also targeting a value play who has been exploding for big numbers recently, but remains under $6,500 on both sites. He could go for 40, even 50 DFS points tonight and might be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing
