The last time we saw Festus Ezeli on the court during an NBA game was during Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals, when he was playing for the Golden State Warriors. 

Last summer, Ezeli moved on from the Warriors, signing a two-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers worth just under $15 million. It was seen as a risky signing given Ezeli's injury history, which included missing the entire 2013-14 season with a knee injury. 

Unfortunately for the Trail Blazers, the risky signing ended up having no reward as Ezeli ended up missing the entire season due to more problems with his knees. 

Now, with Ezeli's second year not fully guranteed, the Trail Blazers are choosing to part ways with the oft-injured big man, waiving him before he ever played a game with the team. 

When he gets healthy, Ezeli is sure to draw some interest around the league, as he's still only 27 years old, and has shown in the past that he's capable of being a solid rim defender. It's unlikely, however, that teams will be willing to make any long-term bets on a player that has now missed two full seasons due to knee injuries.
