An unconventional path to the NBA is still a dream fulfilled.
The New Orleans Hornets announced the signing of guard Brian Roberts on Thursday.
Roberts, 26, arrives in the Big Easy after spending three seasons playing professionally in Germany with Brose Baskets Bamberg. There, Roberts won three consecutive German league titles. Prior to that, Roberts played professionally in Israel.
A scoring guard who went undrafted out of Dayton in 2008, Roberts played in all five Las Vegas Summer League games for the Hornets, averaging 13.8 points, 2.2 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game.
Roberts joins a backcourt that includes the newly re-signed Eric Gordon, 2012 Lottery pick Austin Rivers, Greivis Vasquez, and Xavier Henry. Back in July, Henry underwent minor knee surgery while Rivers underwent minor ankle surgery.
