Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke told Yahoo Sports Thursday that the team does not expect Brian Shaw to be coaching any team but the Nuggets next season.
"Brian has said publicly – and privately to us – that his desire is to be here, and we feel strongly about him as our coach," Kroenke told Yahoo Sports. "I don't foresee a scenario or circumstance where he's going to be anywhere but with the Nuggets next season."

The quote comes after several reports that the Knicks continue to hold out hope that Shaw will take his talents to New York. Shaw went 36-46 in this first season in Denver after injuries plagued the team. Shaw was a player under Phil Jackson from 1999 through 2003 and an assistant coach from 2003 until 2011.
The situation is further complicated by a lack of draft pick compensation options for the Knicks to send to Denver, having already sent out so many in previous trades. Shaw had conflicts with players throughout his first season in Denver, most notably Andre Miller who was first suspended and then placed on indefinite paid leave before being traded to Washington. But by season's end most players, including veterans Randy Foye, Ty Lawson, and J.J. Hickson, supported the coach and defended him from criticism.
Unless something dramatic happens, it would appear that Shaw will not be coaching the Knicks next year.
