CSN New England reports:
Ray Allen's return to the Boston Celtics' lineup is still up in the air. But C's coach Doc Rivers believes his current ankle injury will sideline him for at least two games - tonight against Toronto and tomorrow night's game at New Jersey.
Allen did not travel with the team for tonight's game against the Raptors, but there was a chance that he might re-join the team in time for Saturday's game against the Nets.
via Rivers: Allen likely out Saturday, but injury not serious.
Doc Rivers told reporters that he didn't think the injury was serious, just soreness, so it shouldn't affect Allen long-term. Though it's an ankle injury, and those things just don't heal in good time.
The Celtics haven't really missed Allen, though, with sparkplug Avery Bradley stepping in and bringing his energy and defensive ballhawking into the starting lineup. It's given the Celtics a second ball-handler on the floor and another guard to sick on the opponent's frontcourt. The Celtics should be fine until Allen gets back, and Allen will likely get extensive rest through the end of the regular seaoson.
