Chicago Bulls All-Star point guard Derrick Rose has apparently found just such a place. The NBA's reigning NBA MVP has reportedly purchasing a three-bedroom condominium in Chicago's exclusive Trump Tower for nearly $3 million.
ChicagoRealEstateDaily.com has the jaw-dropping details.
"It's definitely an unbelievable feeling just being up there,” Mr. Rose, 23, said before Saturday's game against the Utah Jazz. The view is nice and I don't take it for granted. It's a blessing. The Chicago Tribune notes that the Trump Tower is the second tallest building in Chicago.
County records show that a private trust paid $2.8 million in January for a 3,102-square-foot unit near the top of the 92-story tower and two parking spots, financing the deal with a $1.7 million mortgage from Northern Trust Co.
The condo offers uninterrupted, nearly panoramic views of Chicago, said Andrew Glatz, president of Chicago-based brokerage Crown Heights Realty and an active agent in the tower. The unit also includes four bathrooms and a den.
"He got one of the top four units in the building," said Mr. Glatz, who was not involved in the deal. "For a guy who's 23 and living a bachelor life, I can't imagine a better bachelor pad."
Rose signed a 5-year $94 million maximum contract extension back in December. He also reportedly inked a lengthy and lucrative new deal with shoe and apparel manufacturer adidas that reportedly could be worth as much as $200 million.
Rose, 23, is averaging 22.8 points, 8.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game for the Bulls this season. Chicago currently holds the NBA's best record, at 35-9.
