Kenyon Martin, future coach? (USATSI)

Kenyon Martin was teammates with Jason Kidd with the Nets and the Knicks, but somehow I never anticipated he'd follow his former point guard's footsteps like this. The longtime power forward interviewed with the Houston Rockets on Friday for a possible coaching position, according to RealGM's Shams Charania.

Martin hasn't officially retired, but players rarely do anymore. They just kind of play until no one signs them. This past summer, Martin told reporters that he wanted to remain in New York as a player, but evidently the interest wasn't mutual. The No. 1 pick in the infamous 2000 NBA Draft, Martin played 14 years in the league and averaged 12.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
