The Spurs announced that veteran guard Tony Parker has undergone successful surgery to repair his ruptured quad tendon, but there is no timetable for his recovery just yet.
Parker has been a mainstay for the San Antonio Spurs for four of the franchise's five NBA titles, but they will have to continue their current postseason run without him.
On Thursday morning, the Spurs announced that Tony Parker is out for the remainder of the postseason after suffering a ruptured quad tendon during their Game 2 win over the Rockets Wednesday night.
The veteran guard suffered the injury during the fourth quarter after coming down a bit awkwardly following a floater. He was not able to walk off the floor, and instead had to be carried off by two of his teammates.
Though the Spurs won the game, they seemed a bit shaken up afterwards, and understandably so. While nothing was known for sure at that time, they seemed to sense the worst.
Parker was impressive throughout the postseason, averaging 15.9 points and 3.1 assists, while shooting over 52 percent in the Spurs' first six games.
Now, the Spurs will likely turn to Patty Mills to start in Parker's place.
