Michael Beasley: Attempting return to NBA
Beasley was deemed eligible to play for NBA clubs starting Feb. 14 by the league office Tuesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Beasley signed with a Puerto Rican club in October and will now attempt a return to the NBA ranks. The 33-year-old spent some time with the Trail Blazers in Summer League but hasn't seen NBA action since averaging 7.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 10.7 minutes over 26 games for the Lakers during the 2018-19 campaign.

Beasley will play for the Trail Blazers' entry at the Las Vegas Summer League, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
The 11-year NBA veteran hasn't suited up for an NBA game since the 2018-19 season, but he's still searching for a path back to the league. The 32-year-old has never been able to find a permanent NBA home, having spent time with Miami, Minnesota, Phoenix, Houston, Milwaukee, New York and, most recently, the Lakers. He'll likely face an uphill battle toward securing a guaranteed contract, but playing well in Vegas would increase his chances.

Nets' Michael Beasley: Will not play in Orlando
Beasley will not join the Nets for the resumption of the season and his roster spot will be replaced, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Beasley tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Considering Beasley would have to go through both a quarantine period and serve a five-game suspension, it's not clear how many games he would end up actually playing for Brooklyn. As a result, the team is opting to replace his roster spot with someone who will likely be available for the entire resumption of the season.

Nets' Michael Beasley: Tests positive for COVID-19
Beasley recently tested positive for COVID-19 and is not currently with the Nets, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Beasley signed with the Nets last week as a replacement player, but his status for the restart of the 2019-20 season is now very much up in the air. The 2008 No. 2 overall pick returned home after testing positive, so if he does rejoin the Nets, he'll likely have to quarantine for a period of time after returning to Orlando. Beasley was already set to serve an outstanding five-game suspension stemming from a past violation of the league's anti-drug policy, so he's not eligible to play until Aug. 9.

Beasley (suspension) officially signed a contract with the Nets on Thursday, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports.
With the Nets down seven players for the remainder of the season, the organization opted to bring in veterans Beasley and Jamal Crawford. Beasley hasn't seen any NBA run this season, but he made 26 appearances with the Lakers during the 2018-19 campaign, averaging 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 10.9 minutes. It certainly seems possible that he'll garner a bigger role with Brooklyn given the team context. The 31-year-old still has an outstanding five-game suspension from August 2019 for violating the league's anti-drug policy that presumably needs to be served before he's cleared for game action.

Michael Beasley: Could return to China
Beasley is drawing interest from Shanxi of the Chinese Basketball Association, Sportando reports.
Beasley was let go by the Pistons last week after they brought in Joe Johnson, and it looks as though he could head back to China, where he's already played for three other CBA teams in the past. Most recently, Beasley suited up for Guangdong last season after beginning the year with the Lakers.

Beasley (suspension) was waived by the Pistons on Thursday, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
Beasley signed a one-year deal with the Pistons in August. However, the franchise decided to go in a different direction with its veteran depth, replacing Beasley with Joe Johnson, who was out of the NBA last year while participating in the Big 3 league. If Beasley finds NBA work this season, he'll have to sit out the first five games he's available for due to a violation of the league's anti-drug policy.

Michael Beasley: Headed back to China
Beasley is expected to finalize a contract Tuesday with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
It will mark Beasley's third stint in the CBA after he previously suited up for the Shanghai Sharks in the 2014-15 season and the Shangdong Golden Stars in 2015-16. Beasley averaged north of 28 points in both trials in the CBA and would likely become one of the top players on the circuit upon returning to China, so it's unsurprising that his contract is believed to include "significant cash," per Wojnarowski. Beasley's commitment to Guangdong is only expected to run through the end of the CBA campaign -- likely at some point in March or April, depending on the duration of the team's playoff run -- so it's possible he could still resurface at the NBA level before the regular season concludes in April.

Clippers' Michael Beasley: Officially waived
Beasley was officially waived by the Clippers on Saturday, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Beasley was traded by the Lakers to the Clippers along with Ivica Zubac in exchange for Mike Muscala on Thursday. The Clippers were expected to waive Beasley following the trade, as Zubac was the primary reason for the move. The journeyman power forward will now look for a new opportunity with a team looking for quick offense off the bench.
