Darrell Arthur: Waived by Suns
Arthur was waived by the Suns on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
This was the expectation all along when the Suns acquired Arthur back in July, but the team decided to keep him around through training camp and the preseason. The veteran will now become a free agent and look to catch on with another team in need of frontcourt depth.

Suns' Darrell Arthur: Traded to Phoenix, likely to be waived
The Nets traded Arthur to the Suns on Friday in exchange for Jared Dudley and a 2021 second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Phoenix is expected to buy out the remainder of Arthur's contract in the coming days.
After now being traded twice in the last week, it looks like Arthur is going to have his choice of team in unrestricted free agency. The bad news for Arthur is that he's coming off his least productive NBA season to date after being hampered with injuries and struggling to find minutes off the Nuggets' bench when healthy. The 30-year-old has played just 60 total games over the last two seasons.

Nets' Darrell Arthur: Heading to Brooklyn
Arthur was traded to the Nets on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Arthur was part of a package sent over to Brooklyn along with Kenneth Faried and future draft picks as a salary cap dump. Arthur, 30, played sparingly in 2017 with an average of just 7.4 minutes per game with the Nuggets. He may have a chance at increased minutes with the Nets, but there's also a chance he's not with the club for long.

Nuggets' Darrell Arthur: Picks up player option
Arthur exercised his $7.4 million player option for the 2018-19 season Friday, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.
Given that Arthur's market value as a free agent this offseason would likely be close to the minimum, picking up the player option was a no brainer for the 30-year-old. Arthur appeared in just 19 games this season, averaging 2.8 points per game, and he'll likely find himself out of the rotation once again in 2018-19. However, given that Arthur is now an expiring contract, he could be used in a potential trade as salary filler.

Nuggets' Darrell Arthur: Miserable season
Arthur tallied 2.8 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists over 19 games played with the Nuggets in 2017-18.
The 29-year-old found himself out of the Nuggets' rotation early on this season and it was one of the reasons why his totals drastically declined. Arthur also shot a career worst 66.7 percent from the free-throw line as well as attempting only 2.5 shots per game. The former Kansas standout has a player option for the 2018-19 season of about $7.5 million and it figures that Arthur will opt in given his miserably production this season.

Nuggets' Darrell Arthur: Scores 10 points in Monday's win
Arthur had 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two steals, one rebound, and one assist in 14 minutes during Monday's 121-104 win over the Hornets.
Arthur matched his season high in scoring while swiping a season high in steals. This was just his 11th appearance of 2017-18, but Mason Plumlee (calf) may miss the next couple weeks. As a result, Arthur will likely have a chance to contribute in the immediate future and prove he belongs a more regular role going forward.

Arthur has seen an increase in playing time following Mason Plumlee's injury, however he's averaging just 11.3 minutes in the past three games. Arthur has yet to see 20 minutes in a game this season, meaning he likely won't see enough time to provide much fantasy value Monday.

Arthur got a rare start on Tuesday and tallied 10 points (4-6 FG, 1-2 3PT, 1-1 FT)), three rebounds and two assists across 19 minutes of action in a 106-104 loss to the Spurs.
Arthur has only played more than five minutes three times all season, and these 19 minutes played marked a season-high. The reason for the start was an injury to Mason Plumlee (calf), and Arthur could remain in the rotation until Plumlee returns.

Nuggets' Darrell Arthur: Starting at power forward Tuesday
Arthur will start at power forward for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
The Nuggets recently lost Mason Plumlee to a calf injury, so Arthur will get the first shot at replacing him in the starting lineup. It's a somewhat surprising move, as Arthur has been outside the rotation recently and logged just one minute over the team's last seven games. For that reason, Arthur will obviously see a sizable bump in his overall workload, though it wouldn't be surprising if fellow forward Trey Lyles out-paced him in minutes. Unlike Arthur, Lyles has been a part of the rotation recently and has averaged 25.4 minutes over the last five contests. Kenneth Faried could also factor into the equation at power forward as well, which further muddies Arthur's projected value.

Among the 13 active Nuggets, Arthur was the only player who didn't see the floor as head coach Michael Malone emptied his bench amid the blowout. Arthur's failure to get off the bench even in an easy win illustrates his low standing on the depth chart. The veteran has only made five appearances all season and isn't likely to see any consistent run unless injuries ravage the Nuggets frontcourt.
