Kosta Koufos: Joins G League Ignite
Koufos agreed to a contract Friday with the NBA G League Ignite team.
A 2008 first-round selection of the Jazz, Koufos spent 11 seasons in the NBA before spending the past two seasons overseas with a pair of EuroLeague clubs. The 32-year-old big man will now return stateside to join the Ignite squad, seemingly hopeful that a strong showing in the G League will result in another opportunity at the NBA level. Koufos owns career averages of 5.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in 16.4 minutes per game over 686 regular-season appearances in the NBA.

Kosta Koufos: Headed overseas
Koufos agreed to a contract with CSKA Moscow on Friday, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
After testing the free agent market, it appears Koufos found the best opportunity for himself overseas, where he will be the highest paid American player in Europe. Injuries hampered Koufos' last season in the NBA, as he appeared in just 42 games for the Kings and played just 12.0 minutes per game.

Koufos collected two points (1-3 FG), 11 rebounds, and two assists in 18 minutes during Sunday's 113-106 win over the Spurs.
Koufos has appeared in six straight games, and he hauled in a season high rebounding total in this one. The absences of Marvin Bagley (illness) and Harry Giles (thigh) resulted in Koufos being called upon to play his highest minute total since Dec. 17. If either of the aforementioned young big men are ready to return to the lineup for Tuesday's matchup versus the Rockets, Koufos will be unlikely to earn such a significant share of playing time.

Koufos (coach's decision) didn't see the floor Monday in the Kings' 115-107 win over the Trail Blazers.
It's the third consecutive game that Koufos has failed to leave the bench, signaling that he's lost his spot in the rotation to Harry Giles. While Koufos is a long-time favorite of coach Dave Joerger for the intangibles he provides, there isn't much incentive for the Kings to hand the 29-year-old regular playing time with the organization prioritizing the development of Giles and fellow rookie Marvin Bagley.

Kings' Kosta Koufos: Grabs eight boards in Friday's win
Koufos contributed four points (2-7 FG), eight rebounds, and two blocks in 15 minutes during Friday's 102-99 win over the Grizzlies.
Koufos played pretty well in this his first start of the season, albeit in limited minutes. The lineup change likely had more to do with matching the opponent's super-sized front line of Jaren Jackson and Marc Gasol than promoting Koufos. With that being said, he swatted a season high block total while matching his best rebounding effort of the campaign as well. Moreover, Koufos has hauled in at least eight boards in three of the last four contests.
