Courtney Lee: Let go by Mavs
Lee was waived by the Mavericks on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
The veteran saw just six preseason minutes, and the Mavericks ultimately decided to go a different direction with the final roster. Lee has enough reputation and three-point shooting ability left to land on another NBA team.

Mavericks' Courtney Lee: Sidelined with calf injury
Lee sustained a calf injury while working out during the NBA's hiatus and underwent surgery, Mark Stein of The New York Times reports.
Stein's report doesn't indicate when exactly Lee sustained the injury, but the Mavericks are apparently looking to add another healthy player to the roster Tuesday, when the NBA's one-week transaction window opens. With that in mind, Lee looks like he could be in danger of being sidelined when the season resumes in late July, though the team has yet to officially comment on the veteran wing's status. Over his 24 appearances with Dallas prior to the league-wide shutdown, Lee averaged 4.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, 0.9 triples and 0.8 steals in 14.4 minutes per game.

Mavericks' Courtney Lee: Puts up 13 in spot start
Lee produced 13 points (5-6 FG, 3-4 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot across 29 minutes in Friday's 121-96 win over the Grizzles.
Lee drew the start with Tim Hardaway (shoulder) and Dorian Finney-Smith (hip) both sidelined and put together a decent stat line. The 34-year-old veteran has seen only 20 games on the floor for the Mavericks this season, but if Finney-Smith and Hardaway are slow to recover, Lee could serve as a moderately effective placeholder in the short term.

Mavericks' Courtney Lee: Back to bench Wednesday
Lee is not starting Wednesday's game against the Pelicans.
Lee received the spot start in the second half of the back-to-back set Monday in Chicago, but he'll return to the bench for Wednesday's contest. The veteran guard is averaging 3.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in 12.2 minutes over 19 games this season.

Mavericks' Courtney Lee: Logs 21 minutes versus Timberwolves
Lee totaled four points (2-4 FG), four rebounds and one steal in 21 minutes during Sunday's 111-91 win over the Timberwolves.
Lee has logged double-digit minutes in seven of his last eight appearances, but he has only reached double figures in scoring twice through 18 games here in 2019-20. He has been more involved of late but isn't likely to offer much for fantasy purposes beyond the very deepest leagues.

Mavericks' Courtney Lee: Moved outside rotation
Lee (coach's decision) didn't see the floor Wednesday in the Mavericks' 130-111 win over the Kings.
Initially listed as starter for the contest, Lee was dropped from the lineup shortly before tipoff and then found himself out of the rotation entirely. Lee had averaged 6.0 points and 1.5 three-pointers in 15.3 minutes while appearing in each of the previous four games, but it doesn't look like there will be room for him to see regular playing time now that Luka Doncic (ankle) is back from a seven-game absence.
