Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Drains five triples in win
Thompson closed Tuesday's 132-91 victory over the Pelicans with 19 points (6-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist and two steals in 24 minutes.
Thompson found some much-needed rhythm on the offensive end, connecting on five three-pointers en route to 19 points. Although he remains one of the most proven perimeter scorers in the league, Thompson has struggled to find any consistency since arriving in Dallas. Across 15 games, he is averaging 14.0 points and 3.1 three-pointers per game, adding very little in terms of peripheral numbers.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Muted performance in win
Thompson closed with five points (1-11 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one block and two steals over 25 minutes during Sunday's 121-119 victory over Oklahoma City.
Thompson couldn't get anything going Sunday, but the Mavericks managed to improve to 7-7 on the season. This was Thompson's third dud in a row, and fantasy managers will be hoping he can break out of this mini-slump soon. In his last three games, he's shooting 31.4 percent from the field and 29.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Posts 22 points against former team
Thompson provided 22 points (7-17 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and three assists across 34 minutes during Tuesday's 120-117 loss to the Warriors.
Thompson received a home-town welcome at the Chase Center Tuesday night. Thompson was an 11-year fixture with the Warriors, and he gave his former teammates a little taste of what they're missing with a barrage of three-pointers. He logged one of his best totals as a Maverick in the narrow loss, and it was his highest point total since the opening game against the Spurs.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Shooting slump continues
Thompson had 12 points (4-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds and two assists across 34 minutes during Friday's 114-113 loss to the Suns.
Thompson has been relegated to the role of being a third option in the Mavs' offensive scheme behind Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, and he's definitively struggling to adjust to having fewer touches than ever in his career. Thompson's efficiency has been affected as well. He's failed to reach the 15-point mark in three of his four appearances this month, shooting a meager 33.3 percent from deep in that span.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Scores 12 points vs. Rockets
Thompson finished with 12 points (5-13 FG, 2-9 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 30 minutes during Thursday's 108-102 loss to the Rockets.
Thompson was the third-leading scorer for the Mavericks on Thursday behind Luka Doncic (29) and Kyrie Irving (28), though Thompson was inefficient from three-point range. As the third option on offense, Thompson has averaged 12.8 field-goal attempts per game (his lowest since the 2011-12 regular season), 9.8 of which are coming from three-point range, which is exactly what he was brought into Dallas for. Through the first five games of the regular season, he's averaging 15.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals over 29.4 minutes per game.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Scores 19 points in loss
Thompson closed with 19 points (7-16 FG, 5-12 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal over 33 minutes during Saturday's 114-102 loss to the Suns.
Most of Thompson's fantasy upside is tied to what he can do as a scorer, and even though two games are not enough to draw conclusions, it seems he's enjoying a solid start to life in Dallas. Thompson has scored more than 15 points in his first two outings this season and is shooting an impressive 11-for-22 from deep. Maintaining those numbers, even if there's a regression in the efficiency department, will keep him as a strong fantasy option across all formats.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Breaks record in Mavs debut
Thompson posted 22 points (7-13 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and three steals in 26 minutes during Thursday's 120-109 victory over San Antonio.
Thompson drained six of his 10 three-pointers in his debut with the Mavericks, and he established a franchise record for a team debut with that mark. Even though the Mavericks offense will run through Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, there's no question that having a third option of Thompson's caliber increases the team's upside on the offensive end of the court considerably. Even if he doesn't hover around the 20-point mark regularly, Thompson should provide decent fantasy upside in category-based leagues due to his three-point shooting and scoring potential, but his upside in standard formats will be tied to what he can accomplish in peripheral stats.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Continues to shoot poorly
Thompson delivered 11 points (4-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt), six rebounds and two assists across 18 minutes in Thursday's 109-84 preseason win over the Bucks.
Thompson has been shooting the ball poorly in the preseason, but as a veteran who has been around the league more than a few times and with a decorated pedigree, there shouldn't be a lot of stock placed in Thompson's preseason numbers. The veteran will be the Mavericks' third option on offense, however, and that should limit his fantasy upside considerably while tying it almost exclusively to what he can bring to the table as a shooter.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Goes 0-for-9 in loss Monday
Thompson failed to score (0-9 FG, 0-6 3PT) in Monday's 110-96 preseason loss to the Clippers, adding three rebounds, one assist and one block in 21 minutes.
Thompson was ice cold in the loss, highlighting the fact that his overall value is perhaps more reliant than ever on just two categories. The Mavericks brought him in to spread the floor, something he can do even when his shot isn't falling. For fantasy managers, Thompson should be viewed as a late-round target, someone who could be expendable at times throughout the season.
