Dionte Christmas: Out for season with Achilles injury
Christmas will miss the rest of the season with a right Achilles tendon rupture, Derek Bodner of DraftExpress.com reports.
Christmas has spent the 2016-17 campaign with the Delaware 87ers of the D-League, partaking in 31 games, while averaging 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.0 three-pointers across 31.6 minutes. However, his recent rupture of his Achilles tendon will rule him out for the rest of the season, which means there's little to no chance he's given a look by an NBA team. He'll start the long road to recovery and will likely open the 2017-18 season in the D-League in order to audition for a spot in the big league.

Dionte Christmas: Let go by Sixers
Christmas was waived by the Sixers on Monday, Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com reports.
Christmas has been out of the league since the 2013-14 season, when he spent 62 games split between the Pelicans and Suns. He was signed by the Sixers earlier Monday, but it was likely just so they could have his D-League rights. Christmas could head overseas again to start the upcoming campaign, but may opt to play with the Sixers' D-League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers.

76ers' Dionte Christmas: Gets one-year deal from Philadelphia
Christmas signed a one-year contract Monday with the 76ers, Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times reports.
A local star from his college days at Temple, Christmas will return to Philadelphia after stops with several different teams both in the NBA and internationally since he went undrafted in 2009. Since he's signed to a one-year deal, it appears the 76ers intend to keep Christmas on the 15-man roster for the start of the regular season. If that's the case, he's unlikely to see enough playing time to attract interest from fantasy owners.

Dionte Christmas: Signs with Greek team
Christmas signed with AEK Athens of Greece on Thursday, Sportando reports.
Christmas signed on to play with Israeli club Hapoel Holon back in December, but only appeared in two games before being released. The 29-year-old hasn't played in the NBA since the 2013-14 campaign, when he made 31 appearances with the Suns.

Dionte Christmas: Signing with Hapoel Holon in Israel
Christmas is signing with Israeli team Hapoel Holon, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! reports.
Waived by Cleveland during the preseason, the 29-year-old Christmas made each of his 31 NBA regular-season appearances during the 2013-14 campaign. He may be back next year to try out for another team, but he faces an uphill battle to catch on in the NBA.

Cavaliers' Dionte Christmas: Waived by Cavaliers
Christmas was waived by the Cavaliers on Friday, Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Releasing Christmas puts the Cavaliers at 17 players, bringing them two cuts away from the regular season roster max of 15. Christmas last played with the Suns during the 2013-14 season, where he played in 31 games and finished with averages of 2.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists over six minutes. Considering he spent a whole year away from the NBA, it wouldn't be surprising if he failed to garner any further interest. Christmas may opt to begin the season in the NBA D-League in hopes of receiving a contract offer later in the season.
