James Anderson: Signs long-term deal with Turkish squad
Anderson agreed to a long-term contract Saturday with Turkish club Darussafaka, international basketball writer David Pick reports.
After a one-year layover in Lithuania, Anderson returned to the NBA to suit up for the Kings in 2015-16, appearing in 51 games and averaging 3.5 points and 1.7 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game. The 27-year-old likely would have struggled to land a guaranteed contract had he decided to pursue opportunities in the NBA this offseason as a free agent, so he opted for some more financial security by heading to Turkey, where he'll be coached by former Cavaliers head man David Blatt. Anderson's decision to head back overseas could spell the end of his NBA playing days.

Kings' James Anderson: Plans to head overseas
Anderson plans to leave the NBA and play overseas next season, international basketball reporter David Pick reports.
Playing overseas is nothing new for Anderson, who spent the 2014-15 campaign with Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania before returning stateside to play with the Kings last season. After an unimpressive run during his return to the NBA in which he averaged 3.5 points and 1.7 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game over his 51 contests, Anderson plans to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Kings, and would likely struggle to earn a guaranteed deal from another NBA team this summer. Pick reports that European powerhouses Barcelona (Spain), Real Madrid (Spain) and Fenerbahce (Turkey) could all be in the market for Anderson's services, and any bidding war that ensues would further bolster the swingman's earning potential.

Kings' James Anderson: Declines player option
Anderson has declined his $1.4 million dollar player option with the Kings for the 2016-17 season, Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Anderson joins Seth Curry as Kings' players opting out of their deals. After averaging just under 30 minutes per game with the Sixers and seeing 62 starts during the 2013-14 season, Anderson saw his role diminish greatly with the Kings, notching just 14 minutes per game and 15 total starts this past year. Anderson also managed averages of just 3.5 points and 1.7 rebounds, so many figured he'd opt in to his player option. Instead, Anderson will head to free agency in hopes of a better deal, although after his relatively poor showing with the Kings, he may struggle to find many suitors willing to pay his price.

Kings' James Anderson: Scores 13 points in Wednesday's season finale
Anderson scored 13 points (5-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-6 FT) to go with five assists, four rebounds, and three steals in 37 minutes during the Kings' 116-81 loss to the Rockets on Wednesday.
Anderson committed six turnovers while the Kings were blown out early on Wednesday. He posted season highs in assists and steals, but averaged only 3.5 points and 1.7 rebounds in 14 minutes during 2015-16. Still, Anderson has a player option for 2016-17, and the 27-year-old journeyman is more than likely to pick that up.

Kings' James Anderson: Starts and plays 36 minutes Tuesday
Anderson started at small forward in Tuesday's 115-107 loss to the Trail Blazers, providing seven points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt), two assists, one rebound, and one block over 36 minutes.
Anderson entered the lineup in place of Rudy Gay, who was one of three Kings players who sat out due to rest. Those absences opened up some additional court time for Anderson in his return to the top unit, but he was little more than a fourth or fifth option offensively throughout the contest, which resulted in a modest statistical output. Gay figures to be back in action Wednesday against the Timberwolves, which would likely result in Anderson moving back to the bench and seeing his minutes cut in half.

Kings' James Anderson: Contributes 13 points off bench Saturday
Anderson contributed 13 points (4-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds and four assists over 23 minutes in Saturday's 115-106 victory over the Nuggets.
The Oklahoma State product turned in his best effort since tallying a season-high 17 points against the Pelicans on Mar. 16. While the performance was certainly encouraging, it's notable that Anderson also has three scoreless outings, four single-digit scoring outputs, and a DNP in eight of his last nine contests.

Kings' James Anderson: Plays 16 minutes in Monday's start
Anderson had two points (1-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt), two rebounds, and two assists in 16 minutes during the Kings' 109-102 loss to the Bulls on Monday.
Anderson saw just 16 minutes despite drawing the start on Monday, while Ben McLemore (finger) missed his eighth straight contest. Anderson's 16-minute average in March is his highest in any individual month during 2015-16, and he can safely be avoided in fantasy.

Anderson will draw the start in Monday's matchup against the Bulls, Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee reports.
After starting two games in a row, Anderson only played three minutes in the Kings previous contest. However, head coach George Karl may like Anderson's matchup with the Bulls Monday as he is giving him the start again. In those previous two starts Anderson posted 13.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 2.5 triples in 31.5 minutes. Anderson could be a sneaky DFS play if he sees anywhere near those minutes again.

Kings' James Anderson: Scores 10 points in 29 minutes Friday
Anderson had 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds, one steal, and one block in 29 minutes during the Kings' 115-108 loss to the Pistons on Friday.
Anderson earned a second straight start on Friday after Darren Collison stepped into that role for a few games before that. Ben McLemore (finger) missed his sixth straight game while Marco Belinelli (ankle) returned from a one-game absence. Kings' coach George Karl has said that he likes what Anderson brings to the table defensively, so it's possible he could continue to earn decent minutes going forward. Nevertheless, he likely won't see quite this much time on most nights, and Anderson will probably cool down in the very near future after two efficient showings in a row.

Kings' James Anderson: Will start Friday
Anderson will remain in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Pistons.
With Rajon Rondo (toe) returning to the starting lineup at point guard Friday, Anderson will slide to shooting guard while Darren Collison will come off the bench. Anderson put together a solid performance in his start Wednesday against New Orleans, pouring in 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go with four rebounds and a steal.

Anderson's last start came a few weeks ago and was at shooting guard. That game saw Anderson play 18 minutes, up from his season high of 10.9 minutes per game. He has only played in two games so far in March, but figures to see a large minutes increase now that he's starting. Look for him to return to the bench as soon as Rajon Rondo (toe), Ben McLemore (finger), or Marco Belinelli (ankle) return to the lineup.

Anderson took Rudy Gay's place in the starting lineup, as Gay sat with a sprained shoulder. However, Anderson wasn't able to make much happen, and as a result he didn't stay on the court for long. The journeyman is averaging 2.2 points and 1.3 rebounds across 11 minutes per contest in 34 appearances this season, and he can safely be left on the waiver wire in fantasy.

Anderson produced two points (1-2 FG), two rebounds, and two blocks across 18 minutes in Sunday's 128-119 loss to the Celtics.
Though Anderson entered the starting five in place of the injured Rudy Gay (heel), second-unit standout Omri Casspi (29 minutes) still ended up dominating the playing time at small forward. Anderson should be able to hold down a rotation spot so long as both Gay and Ben McLemore (wrist) remain affected by injuries, but once the duo returns to full health, his minutes could dry up completely.
