  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Plays seven minutes off bench

Davis finished Sunday's 104-96 victory over the Raptors with three points (1-1 FG, 1-4 FT) and five rebounds in seven minutes.

Davis has been on the fringes of Cleveland's rotation recently, but he saw a slight uptick in playing time while generating some production on the boards Sunday. Jarrett Allen (finger/quadriceps) exited the game in the second quarter and is expected to be sidelined indefinitely, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Davis log slightly more consistent playing time in the frontcourt going forward. Each of Davis' appearances with double-digit minutes this season have come when Allen has been unavailable, and he's averaged 7.8 rebounds per game across his five outings in which he's played at least 10 minutes.

Davis will come off the bench Wednesday against the Bucks, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Quiet in spot start

Davis logged two points (0-2 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 17 minutes during Monday's 95-93 victory over the Knicks.

Davis drew the start for Jarrett Allen (illness) and served honorably for Cleveland, logging a solid plus-12 in the box score. Allen is likely to return when the Cavaliers welcome the Bucks on Wednesday.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Starting for Allen

Davis will start at center Monday against the Knicks, Joe Gabriele of Cavs.com reports.

With Jarrett Allen (illness) and Lauri Markkanen (ankle) both sidelined, Davis will move into the lineup at center alongside Evan Mobley. The veteran has appeared in only one game this month, and this will be his first start since all the way back on Nov. 18 against Golden State. Davis finished that game with seven points, 14 rebounds and two blocks in 28 minutes.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Available Thursday

Davis (COVID-19 protocols) is available for Thursday's game against the Wizards.

Davis spent just over a week in the league's health and safety protocols but will return to the court Thursday. Even with Jarrett Allen (conditioning) unavailable, Davis could have his minutes monitored Thursday.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Enters COVID protocols

Davis has entered the league's health and safety protocols, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

The veteran big man is the eighth Cavs player to land in protocols, leaving the team woefully shorthanded for Wednesday's game at Boston. The Cavs already made the trip to Boston and are planning to add at least one more replacement player, so all indications at this point are that the game will go on as scheduled.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Returning to bench role

Davis will come off the bench Monday against the Nets.

Davis started the last two games but will make his way back to the bench with Jarrett Allen (illness) rejoining the lineup. Davis could still operate as Cleveland's reserve center with Evan Mobley (elbow) sidelined.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Secures 14 boards

Davis totaled seven points (3-3 FG, 1-2 FT), 14 rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 28 minutes during Thursday's 104-89 loss to Golden State.

Davis made his presence known on the glass, leading Cleveland in rebounding in just his fifth game of the 2021 campaign. He's now started in back-to-back matchups due to a thin frontcourt. Davis won't wow any fantasy managers with his scoring totals, but he could be a serviceable option at center until Lauri Markkanen (COVID-19), Jarrett Allen (illness) and Evan Mobley (elbow) return to the floor.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Solid in spot start

Davis totaled six points (3-6 FG), 11 rebounds, one block and one steal across 24 minutes during Wednesday's 109-99 loss to the Nets.

With Evan Mobley (elbow) out for at least two weeks and Jarrett Allen (illness) out for a second straight game, Davis drew his first start of the year and played well. He's in line to potentially start again Thursday, as Allen remains sidelined.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Valiant effort in loss

Davis posted six points (3-6 FG), 11 rebounds , one steal and one block across 24 minutes in Wednesday's 109-99 loss to the Nets.

The journeyman was thrust into a prominent role with injuries to the majority of Cleveland's frontcourt and played admirably, recording his most single-game rebounds since the 2018-19 campaign. Expect Davis to once again hover around 20-plus minutes with Lauri Markkanen (COVID-19) and Jarrett Allen (illness) uncertain for Thursday.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Making first start of season

Davis is starting Wednesday's contest against Brooklyn, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

The veteran big has rarely seen the court this season but will make his first start with Jarrett Allen (illness) and Evan Mobley (elbow) both out for Cleveland. Kevin Love (conditioning) will also be back for the Cavaliers to help their depleted front-court depth, but he's expected to face a minutes restriction in his first game back.

  • Cavaliers' Ed Davis: Signs with Cavaliers

Davis signed a contract with the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Davis spent the 2020-21 campaign with Minnesota and averaged 2.1 points and 5.0 rebounds in 13.0 minutes per game across 23 appearances. The 32-year-old big man is unlikely to be a significant fantasy contributor in Cleveland's frontcourt.

  • Timberwolves' Ed Davis: Absent Thursday

Davis (coach's decision) didn't play in Thursday's win over Golden State.

The center hasn't appeared in a game since April 18 against the Clippers -- a streak of six straight games. On the year, Davis is posting 2.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 22 outings with the Timberwolves.

  • Timberwolves' Ed Davis: Grabs 10 rebounds Tuesday

Davis added two points (2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two steals, two blocks and one assist during Tuesday's loss to Brooklyn.

Davis played for the first time since Feb. 8 and he didn't disappoint. The center tied a season high off the glass while finishing with at least one tally in every major statistical category across 10 minutes of action. Tuesday's outing snapped a streak of 30 straight games of him watching from the sidelines.

  • Timberwolves' Ed Davis: Doesn't see court Monday

Davis did not play in Monday's loss to the Thunder.

The veteran center hasn't seen the court since Feb. 8 against Dallas -- a span of 19 straight contests. After three consecutive starts from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, Davis has only played a total of eight minutes across two appearances over the past 23 games.

  • Timberwolves' Ed Davis: Shifts back to bench

Davis will come off the bench Wednesday against the Spurs.

The veteran big man started the last three games but will return to the bench with Naz Reid (wrist) rejoining the starting five Wednesday. Davis should still operate as the backup center since Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19 protocols) is still unavailable.

  • Timberwolves' Ed Davis: Provides defense in win

Davis started at center in Sunday's 109-104 win over the Cavaliers and finished scoreless (0-2 FG) with five rebounds, three steals, three blocks and one assist in 23 minutes.

Starting his second straight game with both Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19) and Naz Reid (wrist) out, Davis didn't do much offensively, but he contributed some impressive defensive stats before fouling out. His stay in the starting five will likely be short-lived, so Davis is probably best avoided in fantasy leagues with weekly lineup moves.

  • Timberwolves' Ed Davis: Draws start

Davis will get the start at center in Friday's game against the 76ers.

Davis will start in place of Naz Reid (wrist). The big man has averaged 3.8 points and 5.3 rebounds across 17.4 minutes in four starts this season.
