Tibor Pleiss: Finalizing contract with Turkish club team
Pleiss is finalizing a contract with the Turkish club Galatasaray Odeabank, international reporter David Pick reports.
Pleiss recently received a training camp invite from the Nets, but has now opted to go overseas on what is likely a guaranteed deal with Galatasaray. He spent his rookie season with the Jazz, but was unable to carve out a consistent role in the team's regular rotation and was eventually traded to the Sixers this offseason. Pleiss ended up being waived by the Sixers shortly after the trade and he'll now head back overseas for further development. It wouldn't be surprising if he attempted to return to the NBA later this season.

Tibor Pleiss: Waived by 76ers
Pleiss was waived by the 76ers on Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.
After being acquired from the Jazz via trade, there seemed to be very little possibility that Pleiss would stay in Philadelphia given the team's frontcourt depth, as the 76ers took him on to acquire a pair of draft picks. He averaged just 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds during his rookie season with the Jazz, and the chances the center finds a home in the NBA this coming season look slim.

76ers' Tibor Pleiss: Will be waived by Sixers
Pleiss is expected to be waived by the Sixers, Jessica Camerato of CSN Philly reports.
Pleiss and two future second-round picks were just traded Friday from the Jazz in exchange for Kendall Marshall. With Marshall already waived by the Jazz on Friday, the trade was essentially for financial bookkeeping purposes. Even though Pleiss stands at an imposing 7-3, the German is now in danger of seeing his NBA career come to an end after one forgettable season in Utah where he made just 12 appearances.

76ers' Tibor Pleiss: Sent to Philadelphia
Pleiss was traded Friday to the 76ers along with two future second-round picks and cash in exchange for guard Kendall Marshall, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Pleiss was a longshot to make the roster in Utah heading into the 2016-17 season with Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert dominating the majority of minutes in the frontcourt, with several secondary options in Trey Lyles, Boris Diaw, and Joel Bolomboy providing depth. Pleiss only averaged seven minutes per game throughout the 2015-16 season with the Jazz, reeling in 1.3 rebounds and 2.0 points per game as well. The 76ers have plenty of young weapons such as first overall pick Ben Simmons, Nerlens Noel, and Jahlil Okafor so Pleiss' role could be limited given he makes the final roster.

Jazz's Tibor Pleiss: Roster spot on shaky ground
Pleiss appears unlikely to make the Jazz's final 15-man roster for the start of the regular season, Andy Larsen of KSL.com reports.
Following an active offseason, the Jazz boast one of the more balanced top two units in the league, which already makes it difficult for Pleiss to challenge for major minutes in 2016-17 after he was used sparingly as a rookie. However, the team's recent decision to sign power forward/center Joel Bolomboy, the 52nd overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, could deal a knockout blow to Pleiss' hopes of even cracking the roster, as he no longer has an easy pathway to even the third-string center duties. Rudy Gobert and Boris Diaw seeming represent the top two options on the depth chart, while shot-blocking presence Jeff Withey already had the edge on the No. 3 center role heading into camp by virtue of his serviceable play a season ago. Along with those players, Trey Lyles, Derrick Favors and Bolomboy all offer the ability to play the position, lessening the need for the Jazz to carry the 7-foot-3 Pleiss as a developmental option. Pleiss' $3 million guaranteed contract for this season could make the Jazz think long and hard about cutting him, but the 25-year-old's underwhelming performance to date in practices and games might nullify any monetary concerns the team may have.

Jazz's Tibor Pleiss: Shoots well in summer league
Pleiss went for 9.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game in nine Utah and Las Vegas Summer League outings.
Pleiss showcased facets of his game that most 7-footers couldn't even dream about. The 7-foot-3 center shot a lethal 47.2 percent from beyond the arc and knocked down 92.8 percent of his free-throws. For the most part, Pleiss remains relatively unknown outside of the Utah community, but in all likelihood, the big man will be with the Jazz come October. While he needs to improve on many aspects of his game, Pleiss' ability to shoot the ball from deep combined with his size could help him see some valuable minutes down the road.

Jazz's Tibor Pleiss: Quiet rookie season for Utah
Pleiss made a total of just 12 appearances during his rookie season with the Jazz.
Pleiss wasn't expected to set the league on fire in his first year coming from FC Barcelona, but a total of 82 minutes spent on the court this season certainly fell short of expectations. The 26-year-old German remains under contract next season but he'll be firmly slotted behind Rudy Gobert while contending for minutes with Jeff Withey; all players being at least 7-0 and only able to play the center position.

The rookie has appeared in only 12 games all season as a deep reserve for the Jazz, and is averaging two points and 1.3 rebounds over 6.8 minutes.

Jazz's Tibor Pleiss: Sent to D-League
Pleiss was assigned to the D-League's Idaho Stampede on Thursday, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.
Pleiss has failed to crack Quin Snyder's rotation this season, and with Derrick Favors (back) returning to action earlier this week, his path to a regular role off the bench became even harder. As a result, Pleiss will now head back to Idaho, where he's already played seven games and is averaging 11.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in just over 30 minutes.

Pleiss was given 24 minutes off the bench Wednesday against San Antonio, but Rudy Gobert (knee) has returned to the court which effectively ends his spurt of playing time under coach Quin Snyder. In fact, Pleiss is now a candidate for a move down to the D-League where he can see live action.
