Donald Sloan: Signs with Chinese club
Sloan agreed Monday on a contract with the Beijing Royal Fighters of the Chinese Basketball Association, Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.com reports.
The veteran point guard will head to China after failing to secure a contract stateside. He most recently appeared in the NBA in the 2015-16 season, when he averaged 7.0 points, 4.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 61 games for Brooklyn.

Nuggets' Donald Sloan: Inks camp deal with Denver
Sloan signed a training camp contract with the Nuggets on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The former Texas A&M standout has had stints with the Cavs, Hawks, Pelicans, Pacers and Nets since entering the league in 2011, but he hasn't played in an NBA game since 2016. Sloan played out most of last season with the Texas Legends of the G League, putting together averages of 18.8 points, 5.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 24 games. Considering the Nuggets already have 15 guaranteed contracts on the books, Sloan sticking around beyond the preseason is unlikely, especially if fellow point guard Isaiah Thomas (hip) is deemed healthy by then.

Sloan recorded 33 points (8-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 12-12 FT), three rebounds and two assists during Tuesday's loss at Reno.

During the season, the 30-year-old is averaging 18.4 points, 5.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds per contest which makes him valuable not only to the Texas Legends, but also as a fantasy commodity.

Donald Sloan: Cut by Wizards
The Wizards waived Sloan on Saturday, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reports.
Sloan, who was on a training-camp deal with the club, figured to face long odds in landing on the final roster. His absence from the Wizards' preseason finale pretty much signaled his eventual departure. The 29-year-old will now be forced to find a new opportunity with a team looking for point guard depth.

Wizards' Donald Sloan: Signs partially-guaranteed deal with Wizards
Sloan signed a one-year, partially-guaranteed contract with the Wizards on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.
Sloan, who spent last season in China, will attempt to make his return to the States during the 2017-18 campaign. According to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post, the deal is a training camp invite and Sloan will have to fight for a spot on the roster. The five-year NBA veteran last took the floor for the Nets, posting 7.0 points, 4.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds across 21.6 minutes per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the field and 38.4 percent from three. He could help provide some point guard depth behind starter John Wall, though may have to compete with Tim Frazier for reserve minutes even if he makes the team.

Donald Sloan: Signs contract with Chinese team
Sloan signed a one-year, $2.7 million contract Wednesday with Guangdong of the Chinese Basketball Association, Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops reports.
The 28-year-old Sloan appeared in 61 games for the Nets last season, averaging 7.0 points, 4.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds over 21.6 minutes per game. He ended up making 33 starts after Jarrett Jack suffered a season-ending ACL tear in January, but didn't make enough of an impact to hold on to that role for good, ultimately surrendering starting duties to Shane Larkin in late March. Given his five seasons of NBA experience, Sloan probably generated interest from teams as a third-string point guard, but he likely would have struggled to receive the guaranteed money he'll earn with Guangdong, the team he helped lead to a CBA title in 2013. Once the CBA season comes to an end in late February or early March, Sloan could end up latching on with an NBA team for the rest of the campaign.

Nets' Donald Sloan: Scores season-high 19 points Sunday
Sloan finished with 19 points (6-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five assists, and three rebounds in 35 minutes during the Nets' 129-105 loss to the Pacers on Sunday.
Sloan and Shane Larkin shared the backcourt for much of the contest, and Sloan managed to score a season-high 19 points. He was also rather efficient, committing zero turnovers albeit in a blowout loss, and Sloan now has three straight games with exactly five assists. The Nets are only playing for pride during the last two contests, and veterans are receiving rest. As a result, Sloan and several other Nets could be in the conversation for cheap dart throws over the final two regular season games.

Nets' Donald Sloan: Returns from illness Wednesday
Sloan (illness) returned to action in Wednesday's 121-103 loss to the Wizards, finishing with no points (0-5 FG) and five assists over 17 minutes.
Sloan missed Sunday's loss to the Pelicans while dealing with an upper-respiratory illness, but with two full days off between games, he was able to slot back into his usual role on the second unit. Shane Larkin hasn't really offered standout production since claiming the starting role at point guard, but he's been steady enough to stave off Sloan.

Nets' Donald Sloan: Ruled out Sunday
Sloan has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Pelicans with an upper respiratory illness.
Sloan came down with an illness early Sunday morning and will now be held out of their matchup with the Pelicans. With Sloan sidelined, look for Shane Larkin to handle the bulk of the playing time at the point. Considering it's just an illness, it's not expected to keep him sidelined for long and he could be back as soon as Wednesday's outing versus the Wizards.
