Johnson was waived by the Bucks on Saturday, Michael Scotto of The Associated Press reports.
Johnson has been buried on the Bucks' depth chart throughout training camp, thus rendering this decision unsurprising. Outside of five games with the Pelicans last season, Johnson spent the majority of his time in the D-League. He figures to head there again as he awaits another opportunity.

Bucks' Orlando Johnson: Receives training camp invite from Milwaukee
Johnson signed a training camp deal with the Bucks on Saturday, Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops reports.
Johnson inked a pair of 10-day deals from the Suns and Pelicans last season, but was unable to stick around very long with either squad. In seven combined appearances, Johnson averaged 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per game while shooting 26.5 percent from the field. Johnson faces long odds of cracking the Bucks' roster due to his lack of a guaranteed contract, but he'll at least provide some depth on the wing during training camp. In the event that he gets cut, Johnson is expected to head to the Chinese National Basketball League after signing with a club there in July.

Orlando Johnson: Signs with Chinese team
Johnson recently agreed to a contract with a team in China's National Basketball League, international basketball writer David Pick reports.
Johnson appeared in seven games with the Suns and Pelicans last season, but wasn't able to parlay either of his 10-day deals with those clubs into a longer-term contract. He should be in line for a bigger payday by moving over to China, but will need to play well there before resurfacing in the NBA.

Orlando Johnson: Not re-signed by New Orleans
Johnson wasn't re-signed by the Pelicans on Sunday after his 10-day contract with the team expired, Brett Dawson of the New Orleans Advocate reports.
The Pelicans effectively replaced Johnson with fellow 10-day signee Tim Frazier, who has scored in double figures in each of his first three games with the team. During his short stay with the Pelicans, Johnson appeared in five games, during which he averaged two points on 23.5 percent shooting to go with 1.2 rebounds over 10.8 minutes.

Pelicans' Orlando Johnson: Starting Wednesday
Johnson will get the start at shooting guard Wednesday against the Hornets Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Johnson just finalized a 10-day contract with the club earlier in the day, and he'll be thrust into action immediately, as the Pelicans find themselves shorthanded in the backcourt due to a number of injuries. Considering the situation, Johnson, who appeared in two games for the Suns earlier this season, could see major minutes in his team debut.

Johnson will sign a 10-day contract with the Pelicans, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Johnson's last NBA action came in mid-February with the Suns, and it looks like the Pelicans will give him a chance to showcase himself over the final quarter of the season. With Eric Gordon (finger) and Tyreke Evans (knee) currently sidelined among several players on the roster, the Pelicans were granted a roster exemption, through which they'll be able to add Johnson to bring the roster to 16 men.

Orlando Johnson: 10-day contract expires
Johnson's 10-day contract with the Suns expired on Tuesday, Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic reports.
It doesn't sound like the Suns are interested in retaining Johnson, who will become a free agent after averaging eight points and 4.5 rebounds over 23.5 minutes in his two appearances with the club. By letting Johnson go, the Suns will open up a spot on their roster, which should come in handy leading up to the trade deadline, as the team figures to be one of the more active clubs on the market.

Suns' Orlando Johnson: Scores nine points, adds eight boards in loss
Johnson submitted nine points (3-13 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, three blocks, and one steal across 28 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Warriors.
Interim coach Earl Watson ran a tight eight-man rotation Wednesday, but Johnson made the cut and was able to churn out a productive outing while seeing much of his action against the Warriors' second unit. While the rebound and block totals were nice to see from the guard spot, Johnson will probably need to shoot better from the field if he hopes to earn a permanent rotation spot. The 26-year-old's 10-day contract with the Suns will conclude during the All-Star break, so the Suns will have until their Feb. 19 game against the Rockets to decide if they want to re-sign Johnson.

Johnson will sign a 10-day contract with the Suns, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.
In 28 games for Austin of the D-League, Johnson was averaging 15.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound shooting guard specializes in the three-point shot, as he was making 1.9 per game on 3.8 attempts (48.6 percent) in his D-League action. The Suns are desperate to inject some energy into their offense, and if the 26-year-old sees the court, it will be for his shooting touch.
