Andrew Nicholson: Staying in China
Nicholson signed a contract Saturday with the Fujian Sturgeons of the Chinese Basketball Association, Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.com reports.
After spending his first five seasons in the professional ranks in the NBA, Nicholson headed to China last September after failing to attract much interest from North American club. Over 46 games for the Guangdong Southern Tigers, Nicholson averaged 22.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 34.5 minutes per contest, establishing himself as one of the CBA's top stars. He'll join a new team in 2018-19 with the hope of attracting renewed interest from the NBA when the CBA campaign comes to a close.

Andrew Nicholson: Signs deal in China
Nicholson has agreed to a one-year, $1.7 million deal with the Guangdong Tigers of China, Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio reports.
Nicholson will opt to play overseas after being waived by Portland in late August following his trade there via the Nets. He appeared in just 38 games last season between Brooklyn and Washington during 2016-17, posting 2.6 points and 1.6 boards across 9.0 minutes per game. While he hasn't put together a fantasy-relevant season so far in his career, it's possible he could attempt to make a return to the NBA sooner than later considering he's only been a pro for five seasons.

Andrew Nicholson: Officially waived by Portland
Nicholson was officially waived by the Trail Blazers on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Nicholson came over from Brooklyn as a throw-in in the Allen Crabbe trade, and the expectation all along was that he'd be waived. Portland ultimately waited more than a month to make the move, which will cost the team roughly $2.8 million against the cap over the next seven seasons, and Nicholson will now become an unrestricted free agent. The St. Bonaventure product will look to catch on with another team during training camp, but at this point his options will be limited.

Andrew Nicholson: Will be waived by Portland following trade
Nicholson was traded Tuesday to the Trail Blazers for Allen Crabbe and will be waived, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Nicholson has struggled to become a key rotation player throughout his entire five-year NBA career, and he now hasn't started a game since the 2014-15 season. The former St. Bonaventure star appeared in just 38 games between the Wizards and Nets last season and will now be on the open market. Unfortunately for Nicholson, he hasn't shown much in terms of being an NBA-caliber player, and may take some time in either the G League or overseas.

Nets' Andrew Nicholson: Scores two points Tuesday
Nicholson tallied two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one rebound across two minutes in a 122-104 loss to the Thunder on Tuesday.
Since being acquired from the Wizards at the trade deadline, Nicholson's appearances with the Nets have been largely limited to garbage time. He's played in three games with his new club, averaging 3.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in 7.0 minutes per contest. It's unlikely that he'll emerge as a mainstay in the rotation over the final month of the season.
