Brian Roberts: Signs two-year deal with Greek team
Roberts signed a two-year, $950,000 deal with Olympiacos B.C. in Greece, freelance reporter David Pick reports. The contract includes a $1 million NBA opt out in between the two seasons.
Roberts spent last season as Kemba Walker's backup in Charlotte, posting 3.5 points, 1.3 assists and 1.0 rebounds across 10.1 minutes per game while shooting 37.7 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from deep. The 31-year-old will test his luck overseas, with his contract structure giving him a shot at returning to the NBA during the 2018-19 season.

Hornets' Brian Roberts: Will start at point guard Monday
Roberts will start at point guard for Monday's game against the Bucks, Bucks play-by-play announcer Ted Davis reports.
Kemba Walker is going to miss the last two games of the season to rest an ailing knee, so Roberts will get the first shot at replacing him in the top unit. It will mark Roberts first start of the season and should mean a bump in his overall playing time. That said, Briante Weber is the younger player and the Hornets could try and get a better look at him with extended playing time at point guard since the team has already been eliminated from the playoffs.

Hornets' Brian Roberts: Cleared from injury report
Roberts is no longer listed on the team's official injury report, Stephanie Ready of Fox Sports Southeast reports.
Roberts was sidelined during Friday's contest as a result of personal reasons but it looks as if he'll be ready to go for Sunday's contest against the Thunder. The team has remained relatively mum regarding his status, but with his name no longer listed on the injury report the expectation is that he'll be at the very minimum available for Sunday.

Hornets' Brian Roberts: Questionable Friday for personal reasons
Roberts was absent from the Hornets' morning shootaround due to personal reasons and is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Nuggets.
After being on the outside of coach Steve Clifford's rotation over the past two weeks, Roberts supplanted Briante Weber as starting point guard Kemba Walker's main backup in Wednesday's win over the Raptors, supplying nine points, three assists and one rebound in 13 minutes. It's not clear if he'll be in store for a rotation spot Friday while he tends to the personal matter, but if he ends up being held out, look for Weber to take on all the minutes that Roberts would have received.

Hornets' Brian Roberts: Plays 24 minutes Friday
Roberts collected 15 points (5-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists, one rebound and one steal across 24 minutes in Friday's 121-81 victory over the Magic.
Friday night was the first night all season that Roberts has contributed more than 10 points in a game, as his shot came alive behind the arc (100 percent from three) and from the charity stripe (100 percent from the free-throw line). Although this was a solid performance from Roberts, it is hard seeing him follow it up anytime soon with his lack of minutes (8.5 minutes per game this season) and his unusually low efficiency from the floor.

Hornets' Brian Roberts: Serving as backup point guard
Roberts scored eight points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with two assists across 10 minutes in a 105-99 loss to the 76ers on Monday.
With Ramon Sessions (knee) likely out until late March while recovering from surgery to repair a torn left meniscus, Roberts has settled in as the main backup to starting point guard Kemba Walker over the last seven contests. Roberts hasn't seen more than 15 minutes in any of those games, and that figures to remain the case so long as Walker is able to stay relatively healthy. Feel free to continue ignoring Roberts, even in most deeper leagues.

Hornets' Brian Roberts: Doesn't play in Friday's loss
Roberts (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in a 110-107 loss to the Knicks on Friday.
Roberts was held out of Monday's game against the Wizards while dealing with the illness, but he's been available for both of the Hornets' subsequent two contests. However, Roberts hasn't picked up any minutes in either game, as both were fairly competitive and prompted coach Steve Clifford to roll out his normal rotation. As the third-string point guard, Roberts is only likely to make appearances in garbage time of games.

Hornets' Brian Roberts: Unavailable Monday due to illness
Roberts will not be available for Monday's game against the Wizards.
The reserve guard came down with an illness Monday morning, and the team will hold him out of action, meaning they'll be slightly shorthanded at point guard. Roberts usually serves as the team's third point guard behind Kemba Walker and Ramon Sessions, but he's seen mostly garbage time minutes of late and has racked up seven DNP-CDs in January alone.

Hornets' Brian Roberts: Still on outside of rotation
Roberts (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in a 108-98 loss to the Celtics on Monday.
Roberts hasn't appeared in any of the Hornets' last three games and has made only 10 appearances all season, despite not having dealt with any reported injuries since the Oct. 26 opener. As the third-string option at point guard, Roberts isn't expected to pick up minutes outside of blowout wins or losses, or if either Kemba Walker or Ramon Sessions are dealing with injuries.

Hornets' Brian Roberts: Doesn't play in Friday's OT loss
Roberts (coach's decision) didn't leave the bench in Friday's 113-111 overtime loss to the Knicks.
With Friday's game proving competitive throughout, Roberts unsurprisingly didn't take the floor. He's made just two appearances in the Hornets' 15 games this season and will continue to remain on the outside of coach Steve Clifford's rotation so long as both Kemba Walker and Ramon Sessions are healthy.
