Scott Machado: Continuing career in Australia
Machado signed a contract Aug. 9 with Cairns Taipans of the Australian National Basketball League.
Machado ended the 2018-19 campaign with the Lakers after inking a 10-day contract last March. He logged garbage time in four contests, marking his first NBA action since the 2012-13 season. The point guard wasn't re-signed after his 10-day deal expired and didn't attract offers from other NBA teams in free agency over the summer, so he'll head across the Pacific Ocean to continue his career.

Lakers' Scott Machado: Inks 10-day deal with Los Angeles
Machado signed a 10-day contract with the Lakers on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of The Athletic reports.
Machado was recently named G League Player of the Week after posting 40 points, 16 assists and seven rebounds in a victory over the Herd. Now, he's been rewarded with a 10-day contract following the expiration of Andre Ingram's deal. Given the Lakers' chances at the playoffs are all but gone, Machado could get a fair chance with quality minutes for the team over the course of his contract.

Scott Machado: Sets season-high marks in win
Machado set a season-high in points (40), assists (16) and rebounds (seven) in the win Monday over the Herd.
This was easily Machado's best game of the season, connecting on 14 of his 22 field goal attempts which led to his third-best field goal percentage of the 2018-19 season.

Machado finished Thursday's win over Agua Caliente with 26 points (10-20, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 assists, seven rebounds and a steal.
Machado has seen his season averages rise in the past couple of weeks, posting 15.8 points, 7.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 40 games. The leading scorer for South Bay, Machado has quietly been one of the more consistent point guards in the G League.

Scott Machado: Scores 21 despite loss
Machado finished Wednesday's loss to Northern Arizona with 21 points (6-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five assists, two rebounds and two steals.
In Machado's second season with South Bay, the guard has quietly turned into one of the more reliable members of the team. Through 35 games, Machado is playing close to 30 minutes a night, and averaging 14.6 points, 7.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds.

Scott Machado: Nears double-double
Machado tallied nine points (3-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 assists, four rebounds and two steals in the loss Wednesday to Westchester.
Machado didn't start the contest, but he did wind up with the most minutes in the backcourt as South Bay's depleted depth forced three of the four members off the bench to play 20-plus minutes.

Scott Machado: DNP-Hip Sunday
Machado did not partake during Sunday's 137-120 loss at Northern Arizona due to an injured right hip.
Machado hasn't seen action since scoring 21 points back on Mar. 3 and it's unknown when he will be able to return to the court because of his injury. The former Iona star is averaging 16.0 points and 8.8 assists for South Bay this season.

Machado returned from illness to play 25 minutes in Sunday's game against Santa Cruz.
Machado was held out of Thursday's win over the Agua Caliente Clippers, but he returned to his regular role Sunday, providing eight points, 12 assists, four rebounds and a steal in the victory.

Machado did not play during Thursday's 119-93 win over Agua Caliente due to an illness.
The third year player from Iona is a main contributor to South Bay's offense with 15.5 and 8.6 points per game. It's not exactly sure when Machado will return to action, as South Bay's next game is Saturday versus Sioux Falls.

Scott Machado: Hot streak continues
Machado provided 22 points (8-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five assists, four rebounds and one steal during Wednesday's loss at Reno.
This was the former Iona guard's highest scoring total since exploding for 39 points on Dec. 5. Over his last three games, Machado has a hot streak going, averaging 19.7 points, which has brought up his season average to 15.6, and 5.7 assists.
