  • Olivier Hanlan: Waived by Spurs

Hanlan was waived by the Spurs, Michael De Leon of Project Spurs reports.

Hanlan, the Spurs' second-round pick out of Boston College back in 2015, spent just a handful of days on the roster, but has now been waived. The fact that he didn't make it to training camp doesn't bode well for his chances of landing a deal elsewhere. More likely, Hanlan will settle for a spot in the G-League, with the hope of ultimately receiving a call-up later in the year. He could also head overseas on a more lucrative contract.

The terms of the deal have not been immediately made available, but it's likely a training camp contract. Hanlan spent last season in the G-League with the Austin Spurs, starting 30 of his 44 appearances. He averaged 14.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists. He also drilled 1.6 threes per game at 36.8 percent.

  • Olivier Hanlan: Rights traded to Spurs

Hanlan had his rights traded from the Jazz to the Spurs on Tuesday, in exchange for Boris Diaw, Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Hanlan was drafted 42nd overall by the Jazz in the 2015 NBA Draft and has most recently spent time with Lithuania's Zalgiris basketball team. With the Spurs needing to shed Boris Diaw in order to lock up free agent Pau Gasol, Hanlan provided the Spurs an opportunity to grab a player that they wouldn't need to add to their roster right away. Hanlan is expected to remain overseas for the 2016-17 season, but could provide guard depth down the road for the Spurs if there's a need in the future.

  • Olivier Hanlan: Will play for Utah's summer league team

Hanlan will play for the Jazz's summer league team, Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

The 42nd overall pick by the Jazz in the 2015 NBA Draft, Hanlan spent the past season in Lithuania as a draft-and-stash prospect, and is expected to remain overseas again in 2016-17, as he remains under contract with Zalgiris. The combo guard will use the summer league as an opportunity to showcase his skills growth to the Jazz, with the hope of earning a roster spot with the team heading into the 2017-18 campaign.
