Nunnally added one point (1-2 FT) and one rebound during Monday's loss to Golden State.
Although he played just two minutes, Nunnally managed his first appearance since April 26 against the Clippers. Since signing a one-year contact with New Orleans back in April, Nunnally has appeared in five matchups and has totaled 12 points.

Pelicans' James Nunnally: Debuts for New Orleans
Nunnally played nine minutes off the bench Wednesday in the Pelicans' 116-106 loss to the Knicks, going scoreless (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt) while grabbing two boards.
After coming to terms with the Pelicans on a two-way deal earlier in the week, Nunnally made his team debut Wednesday in what was also his first appearance at the NBA level since 2018-19. The 30-year-old wing could fall out of New Orleans' rotation if Lonzo Ball (hip) is able to return to action Friday in Washington.

Pelicans' James Nunnally: Returns to NBA in New Orleans
Nunnally is expected to sign a two-way contract with the Pelicans this week, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Nunnally will head to North America for his third stint in the NBA after previously spending the 2013-14 season with the Hawks and 76ers and the 2018-19 season with the Rockets and Timberwolves. Over his 28 career NBA games, the 6-foot-7 wing has averaged 2.9 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.6 three-pointers in 9.5 minutes per game while converting at a 33.8 percent rate from the field. The 30-year-old most recently suited up in the EuroLeague for Turkish club Fenerbache during the 2019-20 season, but he hasn't played professionally during the current campaign. New Orleans already has two two-way players on its roster (Naji Marshall and Will Magnay), so the Pelicans either need to waive one of the two or sign one to a standard NBA deal to make room for Nunnally.

James Nunnally: Headed to China
Nunnally met with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association last week and is expected to sign with the team in the near future, Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.com reports.
Nunnally returned to the NBA for the first time since 2013-14 last season, appearing in 15 games between the Timberwolves and Rockets. After being released by the latter club in January, Nunnally headed to the EuroLeague, joining Italian club Olimpia Milano. He'll be on the move again to China, with his deal with the Sharks likely to be finalized once he comes to terms on a buyout agreement with Olimpia Milano.

James Nunnally: Returning to Europe
Nunnally agreed Tuesday to a two-year contract with Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano of the Italian League, Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.com reports.
Nunnally was one of the EuroLeague's top three-point shooters with Turkish club Fenerbahce the past two seasons before joining the Timberwolves on a two-year deal in August. The swingman, who previously had briefs stints in the NBA in 2013-14 with the Hawks and 76ers, was unable to replicate his success from Europe in Minnesota and was ultimately cut loose earlier this month. After considering offers from European teams, Nunnally elected to give it another go in the NBA with the Rockets, but he was released Monday before his 10-day contract lapsed. Rather than waiting out another NBA opportunity that likely won't come with much job security, Nunnally will instead take his talents back to the EuroLeague.

James Nunnally: Released by Rockets
Nunnally was released by the Rockets on Monday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The Rockets brought Nunnally in less than a week ago, but they'll be forced to waive the UC Santa Barbara product to accommodate the arrival of Kenneth Faried, who will be in uniform Monday night. Nunnally, who previously spent time with Minnesota, appeared in two games for Houston, totaling nine points, two assists and one rebound in 38 minutes of action.

Rockets' James Nunnally: Joins Houston, should play Wednesday
The Rockets plan to sign Nunnally to a 10-day contract Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Per Charania, the Rockets are hopeful that Nunnally will be able to arrive in Houston later Wednesday and suit up in the team's game against the Nets, which tips off at 8 p.m. EST. After making a name for himself in Europe over the past few years, Nunnally returned to overseas to sign with the Timberwolves in August, but he struggled to crack since-fired coach Tom Thibodeau's tight rotation. Nunnally averaged just 4.9 minutes per game in his 13 appearances, but the outside-shooting specialist could have a clearer path to playing time in Houston after the Rockets failed to agree to a long-term deal with Danuel House, who has since been sent back to the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

James Nunnally: Let go by Wolves
Nunnally was waived by the Timberwolves on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Nunnally signed a two-year deal with the Timberwolves in August but was never a featured member of the team's rotation. The waiving comes as a result of his contract set to become guaranteed on Monday.

Timberwolves' James Nunnally: Plays 21 minutes in Wednesday's win
Nunnally had two points (1-2 FG), three rebounds, and three assists in 21 minutes during Wednesday's 128-125 win over the Jazz.
Making his second appearance of the season, Nunnally played pretty well while getting his first extended action. The absence of Jimmy Butler (rest), who is slated to return for Friday's matchup with the Warriors, almost certainly played a part in Nunnally receiving so much time. As a result, don't expect this to become a regular occurrence, as coach Tom Thibodeau is known for sticking with his starters for heavy minutes.

Timberwolves' James Nunnally: Stuck on bench in season opener
Nunnally did not play in Wednesday's loss at San Antonio due to a coach's decision.
Nunnally signed with Minnesota after playing in Europe the past four years. He could add some three-point shooting, but isn't likely to get much playing time off the bench unless there are several injuries ahead of him on the depth chart.

Timberwolves' James Nunnally: Inks deal with Wolves
Nunnally agreed to a two-year contract with the Timberwolves on Tuesday, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.
The 28-year-old went undrafted in 2012 after four seasons at UC Santa Barbara, where he was voted to the All-Big West Second Team during his senior campaign. He's only appeared in 13 NBA games since then, spending the vast majority of his time overseas. Last season, he started 41 of his 56 appearances for the Turkish squad Fenerbahce Ulker and has made 50 percent of his three-pointers over the past two campaigns. For the Wolves, he should provide three-point shooting depth on the wing.
