Shooting guard Adonis Thomas was waived by the Pistons on Friday.
Thomas was an All-Star in the D-League last year, but has not played in the NBA since the end of the 2013-14 season. He suffered a calf muscle injury during his preseason run, which sidelined him for several games and didn't help his chances of making the roster.

Pistons' Adonis Thomas: Injury reclassified as calf issue
The Pistons have declared that shooting guard Adonis Thomas is dealing with an injury to his calf muscle, not his Achilles' tendon, as was previously suggested.
Thomas was able to return to the court Tuesday against the Pacers, playing 10 minutes in what was his preseason debut, but it sounds like he might have suffered a setback. He can ill afford to miss any further time during training camp as he is no lock to win a roster spot.

Pistons' Adonis Thomas over Achilles injury
Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said Monday that Adonis Thomas (Achilles) has resuming practicing and is available to return to preseason action, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.
Van Gundy relayed that he plans on giving Thomas significant minutes in one of the Pistons' two back-to-back exhibition games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thomas, who is competing with a number of players for the final spot on the Pistons' roster, has yet to make his preseason debut.
