  • Dakari Johnson: Signs with Chinese club

Johnson has signed with the Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association, Sportando reports.

A 2015 second-round draft pick of the Thunder, Johnson finally made his NBA debut this past season and saw the court in 31 games. However, he's was merely emergency depth in the frontcourt and averaged just 1.8 points and 1.1 rebounds across 5.2 minutes. After being traded twice this offseason, Johnson was ultimately waived by the Grizzlies at the end of August and struggled to field much interest elsewhere in the league. Instead, he'll head to China with the hope of restoring his value and potentially earning a contract with an NBA club down the line.

  • Dakari Johnson: Waived by Memphis

Johnson was waived by the Grizzlies on Friday and his contract may be stretched over three years at a minimum cap hit, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.

Johnson was traded from the Magic to the Grizzlies in late July in exchange for Jarell Martin and cash. However, it appears Grizzlies brass would rather have the roster spot. Johnson should still at least be able to find a G-League contract, as he averaged 23.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks as a member of the Oklahoma City Blue last season.

  • Grizzlies' Dakari Johnson: Headed to Memphis

Johnson was traded from the Magic to the Grizzlies on Monday in exchange for Jarell Martin and cash, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Johnson was just dealt to Orlando late last week, so he lasts only a handful of days on the roster. He'll now slot in as depth at center behind Marc Gasol, but is unlikely to see more than a handful of minutes most nights if he remains on the roster heading into the regular season. Johnson averaged just 5.2 minutes across 31 games as a rookie in Oklahoma City last season, but dominated with the team's G-League affiliate where he averaged 23.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.

  • Magic's Dakari Johnson: Dealt to Orlando

Johnson was traded to the Magic on Friday in exchange for Rodney Purvis, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.

With both Steven Adams and Nerlens Noel in the fold for OKC, Johnson was unlikely to see significant run anytime soon. Though now behind the likes of Nikola Vucevic, Mo Bamba and possibly Khem Birch, Orlando's status as a rebuilding team gives Johnson greater potential for playing time. He was a force in the G-League last season in 10 games for the Oklahoma City Blue, averaging 23.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 blocks while shooting 58.4 percent from the field.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Blocks three shots Monday

Johnson tallied 10 points (3-6 FG, 4-7 FT), two rebounds, one assist and three blocks across 22 minutes during Monday's 82-92 summer league win over the Raptors.

Johnson has now hit double-figure points in all three summer league outings, though his work on the boards Monday was less than ideal. He did make up for it with his effort on the defensive side of the ball, however, as his three blocks were a game high. As long as the Thunder don't rest him over the final few contests of the summer league, Johnson should be a viable DFS target due to his double-double potential.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Another quality outing Saturday

Johnson posted 11 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and five assists across 18 minutes during Saturday's 90-76 summer league victory over the Nets.

Through two summer league affairs, the center has recorded 31 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and three steals. His impressive play isn't a surprise considering he averaged 23.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists across his 10 G-League appearances last season.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Makes presence felt Friday

Johnson posted 20 points (7-14 FG, 6-8 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and three steals across 25 minutes during Friday's 88-87 summer league loss to the Hornets.

Johnson, selected 48th overall out of Kentucky during the 2017 Draft, appeared in 31 games for OKC last season, though averaged only 5.2 minutes. He played a much bigger role in the G-League, where he started all 10 of his appearances and averaged 23.3 points, 10.0 rebounds (5.2 offensive), 3.0 assists and 1.1 blocks. Had General Manager Sam Presti not signed Nerlens Noel this offseason to play reserve center, Johnson could have seen more run heading into 2018-19. Now, it's hard to imagine him taking a big leap in playing time, even if he has an impressive summer league.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Assigned to G-League

Johnson was assigned to the Oklahoma City Blue of the G-League on Thursday, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.

Johnson hasn't appeared in each of the last three games for Thunder, but he should have an opportunity to see some quality minutes Thursday night for the Blue against the Austin Spurs. Whenever Johnson is called up to the NBA, he is not expected to be part of the regular rotation.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Starting at center

Johnson will start Tuesday's game against the Hawks, Royce Young of ESPN reports.

The Thunder will be without Steven Adams (hip), so they'll turn over the starting center spot to Johnson, who has not been a part of the regular rotation for most of the year. The 22-year-old played two minutes in garbage time last week against Phoenix, but he hasn't seen meaningful run since mid-December.

  • Dakari Johnson: Great first game back

Johnson amassed 26 points (11-17 FG, 4-7 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks during Wednesday's 113-108 home loss to Lakeland.

In his first game back in the G League since his stint with the Thunder, the former Kentucky center picked up right where he left off and had an effective shooting afternoon (64.7 percent) while reaching the 26-point mark for the fifth time. Through eight G League games with the Blue this season, Johnson is averaging a double-double of 23.9 points and 10.3 rebounds.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Sent to G League

The Thunder assigned Johnson to the G League's Oklahoma City Blue on Wednesday, Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman reports.

Johnson is expected to see significant minutes with the Blue in its game Wednesday against the Lakeland Magic before rejoining the NBA team ahead of Thursday's tilt with the Suns. The rookie center has largely been a non-factor in the Thunder rotation this season, appearing in only 27 contests and averaging 1.9 points and 1.2 rebounds in 5.6 minutes per game.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Recalled from G League

The Thunder recalled Johnson from the G League's Oklahoma City Blue on Monday, Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman reports.

Johnson was assigned to the Blue earlier Monday, but only participated in practice with the team before rejoining the NBA club. The rookie center hasn't cracked head coach Billy Donovan's rotation for the last six games and seems unlikely to earn minutes Tuesday against the Rockets barring a blowout or foul trouble for Steven Adams.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Recalled from G-League

Johnson was recalled from the G-League's Oklahoma City Blue on Sunday, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.

Johnson has bounced between the Thunder and the Blue a few times over the past month. He played five minutes per game over two games with the Thunder last week before being sent to the Blue for Saturday's game. He'll likely just provide depth help in Sunday's game against Memphis.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Assigned to G-League

Johnson was assigned to the G-League's Oklahoma City Blue on Saturday, Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman reports.

Johnson -- who has played 10 minutes over the past two games with the Thunder -- will presumably suit up for the Blue, who face off against the Stars on Saturday. With Russell Westbrook (ankle) and Carmelo Anthony (ankle) both questionable for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies, however, it seems possible the organization will opt to call Johnson back up ahead of that contest.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Recalled from G-League

Johnson was recalled from the G-League on Friday, Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman reports.

Johnson has moved back and forth between the Thunder and Blue over the last month. The expectation is that Johnson remains out of the Thunder's rotation while making occasional visits to the G-League.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Sent to G-League

Johnson was assigned to the G-League on Sunday, Brett Dawson of the Oklahoman reports.

Johnson continues to be on the outside of the Thunder's regular rotation, seeing single-digit minutes in every game he's played since mid-December. For that reason, he'll head to the G-League, where he should get the opportunity to see extended playing time and work on his overall development. Even when Johnson is recalled, he'll remain off the fantasy radar.

  • Thunder's Dakari Johnson: Recalled from G-League

Johnson was recalled from the G-League's Oklahoma City Blue on Wednesday, Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman reports.

Johnson has struggled to find a role with the Thunder while Steven Adams is healthy, playing in just three of the team's past 13 contests, totaling 10 minutes. In his one G-League appearance, he posted 21 points and 11 rebounds across 30 minutes.
