Brown managed 15 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 FT), 17 rebounds and four blocks during Thursday's win over Salt Lake City.
Brown was a monster in the paint for the Blue during the season opener, as the center grabbed an astonishing number off the glass while also recording double figures offensively to mark a double-double. In 28 games played with the Blue last season, Brown averaged 11.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

Markel Brown: Hits five of eight threes
Brown collected 15 points (5-10 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 0-1 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block across 24 minutes during Friday's 134-125 G League loss to Rio Grande Valley.
Brown enjoyed his most efficient night from beyond the arc since early January, hitting 62.5 percent of his attempts. The 28-year-old has continued to launch threes at a rate of 6.8 per game, hitting 42.0 percent on the season. Over 26 games this season, Brown is averaging 11.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 22.7 minutes per game.

Markel Brown: Coming back to earth
Brown finished with three points (1-4 FG, 1-4 3Pt), two rebounds and two assists over 17 minutes during Saturday's 131-120 G League win over the Stockton Kings.
After enjoying great success from deep during December and January, Brown's outstanding shooting efficiency has begun to fall off. Over his past five games, the 28-year-old has hit 30.2 percent of his field goals while shooting 24.3 percent from three-point range. Up until the recent five-game stretch, Brown had hit 43 of 87 attempts from deep. Given such a high and seemingly unsustainable rate, it appears some inevitable regression has finally hit Brown, though he still sits at 41.9 percent on the year from beyond the arc.

Markel Brown: Continues barrage from deep
Brown registered 24 points (7-9 FG, 7-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 20 minutes during Friday's 120-97 G League win over Raptors 905.
Brown's performances from deep have proven to be massive difference-makers for the Blue, as they've won four of nine contests since his return from injury. Brown provided one of his best outings to date Friday, hitting seven of nine threes to lead the Blue to victory with a plus-14 net rating. He'll continue to let them fly from deep, as he leads the team with an unreal 54.0 three-point percentage.

Markel Brown: Provides lift with shooting
Brown posted 18 points (6-11 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and two rebounds across 20 minutes during Sunday's 112-89 G League win over the Skyforce.
Since returning from an ankle injury that forced him to miss over a month to start the season, Brown has provided the Blue with three-point shooting they've desperately needed. In four games since his Dec. 20 return, the 27-year-old has gone 11-for-20 from beyond the arc. He's only attempted two field goals inside the arc, hitting both. Brown's main objective on the floor is to shoot, as evidenced by other areas of the stat sheet that largely remain bare. He's recorded just five rebounds and has yet to tally a single assist, rebound or steal.

Thunder's Markel Brown: Joins Thunder
Brown agreed to a contract with the Thunder on Tuesday.
It's likely that Brown's contract is for training camp, and he'll hope to make OKC's final roster. Brown played overseas in Turkey last season. He last played in 2017-18 for the Rockets, where he saw 7.8 minutes per game across four appearances.

Markel Brown: Heads to Turkey
Brown has agreed to a one-year contract with Darussafaka in Turkey, Michael Scotto of The Athletic reports.
Brown, the 44th overall pick in the 2014 Draft out of Oklahoma State, played just four games for the Rockets last season. He spent most of the year in the G-League, where he played for both the Oklahoma City Blue and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, averaging 16.9 points on 45.2 percent shooting. In signing only a one-year deal, it seems likely Brown will be heading overseas to refine his skills, and then attempt to return to the NBA.

Rockets' Markel Brown: Leads bench in scoring during SL loss
Brown pitched in 10 points (1-5 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 8-10 FT) and three rebounds across 18 minutes during the Rockets' 92-87 loss to the Cavaliers in a Las Vegas Summer League contest Saturday.
To his credit, Brown didn't let his shooting struggles deter him, as he remained aggressive enough to log a team-high number of visits to the charity stripe. The fourth-year guard saw action in 109 games with the Nets over his first two pro seasons before suiting up for only four with the Rockets last year. He's shown the ability for the occasional offensive outburst in the past, and he thrived in G-League play last year with 16.8 points (on 44.7 percent shooting), 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals across 31.9 minutes over 31 games (27 starts). It remains to be seen if he'll garner an opportunity to continue making his case for a roster spot in training camp.

Rockets' Markel Brown: Ties career high
Brown recorded 41 points (12-19 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 13-15 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals during Friday's 117-111 win over host Iowa Wolves.
The former Oklahoma State guard tied his career high with 41 points and was also able to produce his second double-double of the year. Brown has been lurking in double digits in points scored this season but has the ability to break-out past the 20-point mark occasionally, like his performance Friday. The second-year player is averaging 17.2 points and 4.6 rebounds for the Vipers.

Rockets' Markel Brown: Returns to G League
Brown logged 36 minutes Tuesday for the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers in their 132-121 win over the Oklahoma City Blue, producing 10 points (3-11 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, three rebounds and one steal.
Though Rio Grande Valley is off the schedule until Feb. 23, Brown won't rejoin the Rockets after the NBA team instead elected to call up Zhou Qi, Chinanu Onuaku and Troy Williams from the G League. Brown remains buried on the Rockets' depth chart in the backcourt and is unlikely to see extended minutes at the NBA level this season unless the team encounters a rash of injuries at guard.

Rockets' Markel Brown: Expected to see minutes Wednesday
Brown is expected to be a part of the bench rotation Wednesday against the Heat, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Brown is on a two-way deal and has spent much of the year in the G-League, but coach Mike D'Antoni said that Brown will see some minutes Wednesday with the Rockets dealing with a few injuries and playing on the second night of a back-to-back. The former Oklahoma State star was a DNP-CD on Tuesday but saw five minutes of action in garbage time Saturday in Cleveland.

Rockets' Markel Brown: Signs two-way deal with Rockets
Brown will sign a two-way contract with the Rockets on Monday, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Brown has spent the entire season thus far play for the Oklahoma City Blue in the G-League, taking part in 22 games and averaging 17.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals across 31.4 minutes. His strong play has now earned him a two-way contract from the Rockets, where Brown is expected to serve as a deep reserve in the backcourt behind the likes of Chris Paul, James Harden, Eric Gordon and Gerald Green. While Brown could see a handful of minutes once available, it won't be enough to make him a viable fantasy target.

Brown's injury was serious enough to keep him out of for the remainder of the Sunday's game, but it remains to be seen whether or not this was more of a precautionary move by Portland. Brown is vying for a roster spot come October so an extended period of absence could prove to be detrimental in the long run.
