Harris spent the majority of his career in Brooklyn and was known as a lethal outside shooter, converting 43.5 percent of his career 4.7 three-point attempts per contest.

Joe Harris: Parting ways with Detroit
Harris will be waived by the Pistons on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Harris averaged over 20 minutes per game across the seven seasons prior to the 2023-24 campaign, but he wasn't a consistent part of the Pistons' rotation after being traded to the team during the offseason. He'll now be let go by Detroit and will be free to sign with a contender if he clears waivers. It wouldn't be surprising to see Harris carve out more consistent playing time if he agrees to terms with another team to close out the year.

Pistons' Joe Harris: Gets light run in return
Harris (shoulder) missed his lone field-goal attempt and recorded a blocked shot in four minutes in Friday's 123-91 loss to the Magic.
Harris checked into the game with 3:34 left in the first period and stayed in the game for the remainder of the quarter, but he didn't see any action thereafter. The fact that the game turned into a blowout in the second half may have prompted head coach Monty Williams to stay away from Harris, but the 32-year-old doesn't look as though he'll be in store for a major role in any case even though he's now made his way back from the right shoulder strain that had sidelined him for the previous 14 games. Harris will primarily be vying with Alec Burks, Isaiah Livers, Jaden Ivey, Ausar Thompson and Marcus Sasser for reserve minutes on the wing.
