Jordan McRae: Bound for China
McRae is nearing an agreement on a contract with the Chinese Basketball Association's Beijing Ducks, Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.com reports.
McRae is expected to arrive in China by the end of the week to put pen to paper on what's most likely a one-year contract. The 29-year-old combo guard spent time with the Wizards, Nuggets and Pistons in 2019-20, appearing in 37 games and averaging 11.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 21.2 minutes per contest. He became a free agent in late November, when the Pistons renounced his rights.

Pistons' Jordan McRae: Scores 15 in debut
McRae contributed 15 points (5-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), three assists and two rebounds in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 114-107 loss to the Thunder.
McRae made an immediate impact in his first game with the Pistons, stepping up amid the absences of Bruce Brown (knee), Luke Kennard (knee) and Derrick Rose (ankle). While Brown could be on the verge of returning in the very near future, Kennard is expected to miss at least another week and Rose may be out for at least two weeks. As a result, McRae may be relied upon fairly heavily for at least the next handful of matchups.

Pistons' Jordan McRae: Claimed by Detroit
McRae was claimed off waivers by the Pistons on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
McRae has found a new home after agreeing to a buyout with the Nuggets over the weekend. He's held his own when given playing time this season, averaging 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists across 20.8 minutes. Given the Pistons' standing in the East, McRae could benefit from some steady run down the stretch.

The Pistons will waste no time getting McRae in uniform and out on the court, as he was signed just earlier in the day. In 33 appearances between Washington and Denver this season, McRae has averaged 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 20.8 minutes.

Jordan McRae: Let go by Denver
The Nuggets agreed Sunday with McRae on a buyout, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The guard will be exposed to waivers and is expected to be claimed by the Suns.
The Nuggets acquired McRae on Feb. 6 ostensibly to improve their backcourt depth, but Denver will quickly write the 28-year-old off as a sunk cost. After McRae saw action in just four games following his acquisition from the Wizards and didn't have a real path to a rotation spot moving forward, the Nuggets will do him a favor by cutting him loose and affording him the opportunity to find playing time elsewhere before he hits free agency this summer. Though he no longer finds himself on a contending team, McRae should provide the Suns with a much-needed scoring presence off the bench. Expect McRae's move to Phoenix to become official within the next few days, assuming no team ahead of the Suns in the waiver order puts in a claim for the 6-foot-5 guard.

Nuggets' Jordan McRae: Dropped from rotation
McRae (coach's decision) didn't see the floor Friday in the Nuggets' 113-101 loss to the Thunder.
McRae, PJ Dozier and Noah Vonleh all saw their spots in the Denver rotation evaporate with the team returning three players (Will Barton, Michael Porter and Mason Plumlee) from multi-game absences in the Nuggets' first contest of the second half. Even though Denver proactively acquired McRae prior to the trade deadline, the 28-year-old looks like he'll only be an insurance option in the event starting guards Jamal Murray and Gary Harris succumb to injuries.

McRae was nursing an ankle sprain before being traded from the Wizards to the Nuggets this week, but he's good to go for Saturday's matchup. The 28-year-old averaged 21.6 minutes in his last seven games in Washington and is likely to fill a minor bench role with Denver.

Nuggets' Jordan McRae: Listed as probable
McRae (ankle) is officially listed as probable for Saturday's tilt against the Suns.
McRae was originally listed as available to make his debut with this new team, but a linger ankle issue could potentially put that on hold. Still, the 28-year-old looks on track to suit up. It remains unclear what type of role he will see right away, but he is unlikely to make a big dent in the rotation.

Nuggets' Jordan McRae: Moved to Denver
McRae (ankle) was traded from the Wizards to the Nuggets on Thursday in exchange for Shabazz Napier, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reports.
McRae hasn't played in the Wizards' past four games due to an ankle injury, but since he was on track to suit up for Washington over the weekend, he should be good to go once he passes a physical and meets up with his new team. While McRae averaged 26.0 minutes per game in January prior to getting injured, he'll likely see his playing time and overall fantasy utility take a hit as he heads to a deeper Nuggets roster.
