The Timberwolves and Stauskas agreed to a contract on Thursday, Dane Moore of BringMeTheNews.com reports.

Nik Stauskas: Waived by Indiana
Stauskas was waived by the Pacers on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Stauskas is having his contract stretched to make room for the offer sheet for Deandre Ayton. The guard will be free to join any other team, except Boston, in free agency. In 39 total minutes last season between the Heat and Celtics, Stauskas racked up 18 points, three rebounds and two assists.

Pacers' Nik Stauskas: Traded to Indiana
Stauskas was traded from the Celtics to the Pacers on Friday along with four other players and a 2023 first-round pick in exchange for Malcolm Brogdon, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Stauskas wasn't a part of Boston's rotation after being promoted from the G League last season, appearing in eight games and averaging 2.3 points in just 4.9 minutes per contest. He'll have an opportunity to earn a bigger role in Indiana, although it will probably be difficult to crack the rotation given the team's depth in the backcourt.

Celtics' Nik Stauskas: Plays garbage time minutes
Stauskas logged zero statistics across two minutes of court time Tuesday in the Celtics' 109-86 win over the Bucks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals series.
Stauskas has seen garbage time run in both of the first two games of the series in what marked the first playoff appearances of his professional career since entering the NBA as a lottery selection in 2014. The 28-year-old had previously been sidelined at the end of regular season with an ankle sprain, but he was fully cleared in advance of the Celtics' first-round series sweep of the Nets.

Nik Stauskas: Scores 100 points over two games
Stauskas finished with 43 points (16-21 FG, 9-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal Wednesday in the G League Grand Rapids Gold's 124-119 win over the Lakeland Magic.
On the 60th anniversary of Wilt Chamberlain's famous 100-point game, Stauskas matched the NBA legend's feat, albeit over the course of two games while facing off against G League competition. Still, Stauskas' spectacular encore performance following Tuesday's 57-point effort in a win over the Wisconsin Herd could attract attention from NBA teams who may be looking to fill out the back end of their rosters with a perimeter shooter. Before rejoining Grand Rapids in early January, Stauskas made a pair of appearances for the Heat earlier this season while the team was decimated by COVID-19-related absences. The two outings with the Heat marked the 28-year-old's first NBA action since the 2018-19 season.

Nik Stauskas: Goes off for 57 points in G League
Stauskas exploded for 57 points (20-29 FG, 11-15 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds and five assists across 43 minutes Tuesday in the G League Grand Rapids Gold's 131-127 win over the Wisconsin Herd.
The veteran wing certainly seemed to benefit from Isaiah Thomas getting called up to the Hornets on a 10-day deal, as Stauskas was the clear No. 1 option for the Gold on Tuesday. The Michigan product set a new career high in scoring while carrying Grand Rapids to a narrow victory. If Stauskas can string together a few performances of big scoring on efficient shooting, he could improve his chances of resurfacing in the NBA before the end of the season.

Nik Stauskas: Decent despite rough shooting
Stauskas finished with 22 points (8-21 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 43 minutes during Wednesday's 117-116 loss to Windy City.
Even with the addition of Isaiah Thomas back the Gold lineup, Stauskas was able to top 20 points in Grand Rapids' loss. However, the Michigan product hit just two of his 10 attempts from deep. It will be interesting to see how Statuskas and Thomas continue to perform as the veterans of this Gold team.
