Jarnell Stokes: Strong finish to LVSL play
Stokes posted 19 points (7-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and four rebounds across 21 minutes during the Trail Blazers' 99-84 win over the Bucks in a Las Vegas Summer League consolation game Friday.
The 25-year-old finished off his Las Vegas audition with yet another convincing performance, and his overall body of work in the desert may have earned him a longer look from the Trail Blazers beginning in training camp. Stokes generated solid averages of 10.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 20.6 minutes over five games in summer league play.

Trail Blazers' Jarnell Stokes: Posts another strong outing
Stokes amassed 17 points (8-8 FG, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds and one assist across 20 minutes during the Trail Blazers' 92-87 loss to the Thunder in a Las Vegas Summer League game Thursday.
The big man stepped up with his best all-around performance of summer league play. Stokes is now averaging 8.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 block across 20.5 minutes over four games in Las Vegas as he looks to make a case for a training camp invite. The 2014 second-round pick of the Grizzlies has 28 games of NBA experience under his belt, but he last saw regular-season action with the Nuggets back in the 2016-17 campaign.

Heat's Jarnell Stokes: Agrees to contract with Heat
Stokes agreed Monday to sign a contract with the Heat, freelance reporter Jeff Goodman reports.
Stokes' last NBA action came during the 2016-17 campaign, when he logged just 3.5 minutes per contest across two games. He did play for the Bulls during the Las Vegas Summer League in July, but didn't provide anything overly impressive, averaging just 5.0 points and 2.8 rebounds across five games. As a result, his deal with the Heat is likely only for training camp, so he'll need to thoroughly impress the staff during camp and the preseason to have any chance at a final roster spot.

Jarnell Stokes: Waived by Denver
Stokes (foot) was waived by the Nuggets on Tuesday, Chris Dempsey of The Denver Post reports.
Stokes barely beat out Robbie Hummel for the 15th and final spot on the Nuggets' regular season roster out of camp, and was never able to earn a spot in the team's regular rotation before succumbing to a foot injury, which sidelined him for a second straight game. With the Nuggets dealing with injuries in the backcourt to Gary Harris (ankle) and Will Barton (ankle), the team is likely looking to add depth at that spot, so the banged-up Stokes was deemed expendable. Once healthy, Stokes could get a look elsewhere, but if not, the D-League could be his best option to restore value.

Stokes (foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Suns, Harrison Wind of BSN Denver reports.
A right foot issue will keep Stokes out of a third consecutive game, though even when healthy, the forward is the 15th man on the roster and won't be part of the regular rotation. Consider Stokes questionable for Friday's meeting with the Raptors.
