Chinanu Onuaku: Potentially out for rest of season
Onuaku (back) did not play in the loss Thursday to the Mad Ants.
Back spasms could wind up causing an abrupt end to the 2018-19 season for Onuaku. The center played in 43 games for the Swarm this season, averaging 13.8 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 steals as part of a well-rounded season for the 22-year-old.

Chinanu Onuaku: Returns and posts double-double
Onuaku (undisclosed) posted 11 points (5-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 17 rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal in the 109-104 win Friday over the Red Claws.
Onuaku certainly didn't take long to get back in the swing of things, recording a double-double after missing two games with an undisclosed ailment. The big man is averaging 14.6 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.7 blocks through 29 games this season, all of which would represent career-highs.

Chinanu Onuaku: Records monster double-double
Onuaku tallied 20 points (9-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-6 FT), 21 rebounds, six assists and one steal in the win Wednesday over the Herd.
Onuaku amassed a season-high in rebound thanks in large part to the Herd's struggles from the field. Onuaku has seen his free-throw percentage slip in recent games, residing at a career-low 60.6 percent.

Chinanu Onuaku: Picks up another double-double
Onuaku tallied 17 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and two blocked shots in the loss Wednesday to Austin.
The center did turn the ball over six times, part of 18 total turnovers by the Swarm, but he did provide essentially the only defensive presence in the paint for his team. Through six G League games this season, Onuaku is averaging 13.8 points, 13 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.

Onuanku was selected with the second overall pick in Saturday's 2018 G-League Draft.
Onuanku has played 73 total NBA minutes across his first two seasons, ultimately spending most of his time in the G-League. Last year, with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, he averaged 10.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 blocks in 25.6 minutes.

Chinanu Onuaku: Waived by Blazers
Onuanku was let go by the Trail Blazers on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Onuaku wasn't able to find a spot on in the Blazers' frontcourt. He's played 74 NBA minutes for the Rockets over the past two years. Entering his age 21 season, Onuaku will probably look towards the G-League or overseas to continue his professional basketball career.

Trail Blazers' Chinanu Onuaku: Joining Portland for training camp
Onuaku agreed to a training camp contract with the Trail Blazers on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Onuaku played just six games with the Rockets over his first two years in the league, but didn't progress quick enough to be considered an asset for the future. As a result, he was dealt to the Mavericks this summer, before ultimately getting released. Following Monday's deal, Onuaku will now have a chance to battle for a roster spot in Portland, but is likely nothing more than a long shot at this point. Even if he were to surprisingly make the team, Onuaku would be well off the fantasy radar.

Mavericks' Chinanu Onuaku: Dealt to Dallas
Onuaku, plus cash, was traded from the Rockets to the Mavericks on Wednesday in exchange for a 2020 second-round pick swap, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The 37th overall pick in 2016, Onuaku has played just 73 NBA minutes, spending most of his time in the G-League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Last season, he averaged 10.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 blocks across 25.6 minutes per game while shooting 60.2 percent from the field. Onuaku's struggle to find NBA run will probably continue in Dallas, as Mavs already have DeAndre Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki, Dwight Powell and Salah Mejri in the fold.

Chinanu Onuaku: Will be waived by Mavericks
Onuaku will be waived by the Mavericks, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Onuaku was dealt from Houston to Dallas earlier this week, but it was merely a financial move and he's now set to be released in order to open up a roster spot for the newly-signed Devin Harris. An early second-round pick in 2016, Onuaku is still young and could field interest elsewhere in the league. If not, look for the 6-foot-10 center to rebuild his value in the G-League or overseas with the hope of getting a call-up later in the season.

The Rockets are slated to rest starting center Clint Capela on Tuesday, so Onuaku will provide some emergency depth at the position behind both Nene Hilario and Tarik Black. Don't expect Onuaku do see big minutes despite the promotion, so he can continue to be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Chinanu Onuaku: 13 boards in loss
Onuaku registered eight points (4-7 FG), 13 rebounds, four assists and one block across 34 minutes during Thursday's 113-105 loss at Agua Caliente.
Onuaku wasn't much of a scorer but he was a factor on the boards, leading all G League players Thursday. Onuaku is capable of a double-double night in and night out though, as his season average of 10.4 points and 9.2 rebounds indicate.

Rockets' Chinanu Onuaku: Recalled from G League
The Rockets recalled Onuaku from the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Wednesday.
The Vipers are off the schedule until Feb. 23, so Onuaku will head to the NBA team to provide some depth off the bench Wednesday against the Kings in the Rockets' final game before the All-Star break. Since entering the league in 2016, Onuaku has made all of five appearances, including none in 2017-18, so don't expect him to see any action if Wednesday's game is competitive throughout.
