Luis Montero: Will miss Saturday's game
Montero will miss Saturday's game at Memphis due to participating in FIBA World Cup Qualifying with Team Dominican Republic.
The 24-year-old from Westchester Community College was added to the 12-man roster for Team Dominican Republic in the FIBA World Cup Qualifying games which will conclude on Feb. 26. Montero is expected back with the team in time for the Bighorns' game on Feb. 27 at Northern Arizona. During his third stint in the G-League, Montero is averaging 12.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists across 21 games played this season.

Luis Montero: Cut by Pistons
Montero was released by the Pistons on Sunday, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Montero has spent the vast majority of this season in the G-League, appearing in just two games for the Pistons. The news of his release coincides with the team's two-way signings of Kay Felder and Reggie Hearn.

Montero signed a two-way contract Friday with the Pistons, HoopsHype.com reports.
Montero was most recently waived by the Heat in 2016 after spending training camp with them, and he'll now have another shot at the league in Detroit. Montero played in summer league for both the Mavericks and Kings this year and will likely spend majority of the 2017-18 season in the G League upon singing this deal.

Montero was not able to make the Heat's final roster, which is unsurprising as he was considered to be a long shot. The 23-year-old played his rookie season with the Trail Blazers. He will likely enter the D-League as he looks for another opportunity.
