Pelicans' Cliff Alexander: Perfect from field in summer league victory
Alexander totaled 15 points (7-7 FG, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, two steals and one block across 18 minutes during the Pelicans' 110-84 win over the Heat in a Las Vegas Summer League contest Saturday.
The 22-year-old has only seen eight games of NBA action, which came back in the 2015-16 season with the Trail Blazers. Before an ankle injury prematurely ended his 2017-18 campaign with the G-League's Wisconsin Herd, Alexander had turned in a solid 16.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 28 games. He'll look to continue flashing in summer league action and earn an opportunity to demonstrate his worth in training camp.

Cliff Alexander: Let go by Pelicans
Alexander was waived by the Pelicans on Saturday, Scott Kushner of The Advocate reports.
Alexander joined the Pelicans for training camp, but didn't make much of an impact over four preseason games and averaged just 2.3 points and 3.8 rebounds across 8.8 minutes. He'll likely settle for a stint in the G-League start the 2017-18 campaign, though he should receive interest as a potential call-up later in the year after injuries run their course across the NBA.

Pelicans' Cliff Alexander: Joins Pelicans for training camp
Alexander signed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Pelicans on Sunday, Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders reports.
After taking part in just eight games with the Trail Blazers during the 2015-16 season, Alexander was out of the league last year and instead, played in the G-League. In 40 games combined between the Bayhawks and Nets of the G-League, Alexander averaged a solid 15.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.0 block across 27.3 minutes, while also shooting 52 percent from the field. He'll now join the Pelicans for training camp, but will have an uphill battle to make the regular-season roster. More likely, Alexander will eventually return to the G-League to further develop his skills at the start of the 2017-18 campaign.

Cliff Alexander: Waived by Orlando
Alexander was waived by the Magic on Sunday, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reports.
Alexander was a bit of a long shot to get a final roster spot with the Magic, but still could have an opportunity to get picked up by another team. Either way, he's not likely to provide much value fantasy-wise.

Magic's Cliff Alexander: Signs training camp deal with Orlando
Alexander signed a training camp contract with the Magic on Wednesday, Brian K. Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
A top recruit coming out of high school in 2014, Alexander endured a difficult freshman season at Kansas and ultimately went undrafted upon turning pro last spring. Given his pedigree, the 20-year-old still drew interest from several clubs as an undrafted free agent, and ultimately latched on with the Trail Blazers, who kept him on the roster all season. Still, the raw Alexander rarely saw the floor, appearing in only eight games and averaging 1.3 points and 0.8 rebounds in 4.5 minutes per contest. He wasn't much better in summer league for Portland, who finally gave up on the 6-foot-9 forward in July in order to clear a roster spot for Festus Ezeli. Alexander will get an opportunity to prove he's an NBA-caliber player while auditioning for a roster spot in Orlando, but it's just as likely that he'll get cut and will have to try to forge his career elsewhere.

After being waived by the club earlier in the week to create cap space, Alexander will join up with Portland's Summer League team in Las Vegas beginning on Sunday. The former Kansas Jayhawk would likely have to put together a huge showing during summer league to get a training camp invite. He appeared in just eight games with the Trail Blazers last season, averaging 1.3 points and .8 rebounds over 4.5 minutes of work.

Alexander (coach's decision) was inactive for Sunday's 118-106 Game 1 loss to the Warriors.

Trail Blazers' Cliff Alexander: Back from D-League
Alexander was recalled from the D-League's Santa Cruz Warriors on Monday, The Columbian's Erik Gundersen reports.
Alexander spent four games with Santa Cruz during this latest D-League stint, starting all four contests and averaging 15 points and 7.3 rebounds. The undrafted rookie likely won't make much of an impact for the Trail Blazers down the stretch, and remains more of a long-term developmental prospect.

Trail Blazers' Cliff Alexander: Assigned to D-League
Alexander was assigned to the D-League's Santa Cruz Warriors on Thurdsay, Erik Gunderson of the Columbian reports.
Alexander will join teammate, Luis Montero, in the move to Santa Cruz. Alexander has seen action in just seven games this season, so the change of scenery will allow him the chance for further opportunities and extended playing. Unless injuries occur higher up in the depth chart, Alexander will remain without fantasy relevance.

Trail Blazers' Cliff Alexander: Fails to see major minutes this season
Alexander has only played in seven games with the Trail Blazers this season.

Trail Blazers' Cliff Alexander: Inactive again Sunday
Alexander was inactive for Sunday's win against the Timberwolves.
Active just one time over the Blazers' last 31 games, Alexander has been the odd man out in a frontcourt that has mostly avoided the injury bug in 2015-16. Expect the undrafted rookie to remain in street clothes for the foreseeable future on game days.

Alexander (coach's decision) was inactive for Wednesday's 109-98 loss to the Clippers.

Trailblazers' Cliff Alexander: Makes NBA debut
Alexander made his NBA debut Sunday in Charlotte, notching four points (2-4 FG), four rebounds, and one block in 17 minutes.
Alexander was a part of the Blazers' frontcourt rotation for the first time, which isn't a surprise given Meyers Leonard's absence due to a separated shoulder. With at least a one-month recovery expected for Leonard, Alexander has a chance to become a factor on a nightly basis, though coach Terry Stotts is apt to trust in known entities like Sunday's starting power forward Noah Vonleh, Ed Davis, and even Al-Farouq Aminu going forward. Nevertheless, Alexander got his feet wet and may have the chance to build upon his first NBA outing.

Trailblazers' Cliff Alexander: Will make season debut Sunday
Alexander (knee) will be active for Sunday's game against the Pistons, Erik Gundersen of The Columbian reports.
Alexander has recovered from a bruised knee he suffered in the preseason, and he is ready for game action. He is not likely to be part of the Trail Blazers' rotation out of the gate, but head coach Terry Stotts may let him get his feet wet in the NBA with a few minutes Sunday night.

Trailblazers' Cliff Alexander: Upgraded to probable Sunday
Alexander has officially been listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Pistons.
Alexander missed the entire preseason, as well as the first six games of the regular season, but was able to participate in some live 4-on-4 work during Tuesday's practice. After looking good in practice, it now looks as if the rookie could make his season debut Sunday. Even if he does play, he likely won't receive enough minutes to stay fantasy relevant in the majority of leagues.
