Alan Williams: Signs with Russian club
Williams is expected to sign a contract with Russian team PBC Lokomotiv Kuban, Lithuanian basketball journalist Donatas Urbonas reports.
After Brooklyn renounced its rights to Williams earlier this month, the center was believed to have agreed to a contract with Shaanxi Xinda of the Chinese National Basketball League, per Asia-Basket.com. That deal apparently fell though, as Williams is now poised to take his talents to Eastern Europe in the VTB United League. Williams' deal likely contains an opt-out clause that would allow him to pursue any opportunities in the NBA that might arise at a later time. Williams saw most of his action in 2018-19 at the G League level but appeared in five games for the Nets, averaging 3.6 points and 3.8 boards in 5.2 minutes.

Nets' Alan Williams: Piles up boards in playoff win
Williams piled on 15 points (6-16 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 20 rebounds, four blocks, two assists and one steal in the 108-106 G League Conference Finals win over Lakeland on Tuesday.
Williams and fellow big man Thomas Wimbush dominated the glass, each finishing the pivotal win with double-doubles. Williams played in 41 games with Long Island this season, averaging 19.8 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.9 blocks in 27.0 minutes per game.

Nets' Alan Williams: Plays little after G League callup
Williams played six minutes in Monday's 113-94 loss to the Bucks and contributed two points (1-3 FG) and six rebounds.
Brooklyn was missing five players due to injury in the contest, so Williams was summoned from the G League's Long Island Nets to offer some emergency depth off the bench. Despite the extensive absences, Williams still only saw run in garbage time. It's just the third NBA appearance of the season for the two-way center, who should be headed back to Long Island in short order.

Williams contributed eight points (3-4 FG, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, and two assists in nine minutes during Friday's 122-105 loss to the Raptors.
Williams had the lowest minute total among the 12 Nets who saw the floor in this one. However, he nearly managed a double-double in this his first appearance of the season. The absences of Jared Dudley (hamstring) and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (groin) may explain why Williams was called upon, but he made the most of his playing time, and coach Kenny Atkinson is known for relying on a deep rotation.

Things will move quickly, as Williams is expected to be dressed for Friday's game against the Raptors. Williams tallied 28 points (11-23 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 21 rebounds and three assists in the 126-120 win over the Herd on Friday.
That's Williams second 20-plus rebounding outing in December, as the center registered 27 in the category against the Red Claws two weeks ago. Easily one of the most dominant players at his position in the G League, Williams has outplayed his opposition to the point where he seems like a strong candidate to join his NBA affiliate at some point down the road.

Williams banged out 19 points (7-19 FG, 5-7 FT), 27 rebounds, three assists and zero turnovers across 29 minutes in Sunday's 110-101 home loss to the Red Claws.
Yes, you read that correctly, Williams had 27 rebounds. The Red Claws started (as usual) 6'7" Dallas Lauderdale at center, but quickly subbed in the bigger John Bohannon. It didn't matter, as Williams dominated the glass throughout the game. As you probably guessed, 27 boards is a season who for the big center. Williams had back-to-back 18 rebound games in late November.

Alan Williams: Returns after one-game absence
Williams (ankle) finished Friday's win with 18 points (7-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds and an assist.
Williams only played 22 minutes, but that was more because the center stumbled into foul trouble early, eventually fouling out in the fourth quarter. A near automatic double-double when healthy, Williams will get at least a day to rest an ankle injury that kept him out of Thursday's contest.

It's a troubling injury given Williams has put together a magnificent season to date, averaging 20.1 points and 13.9 rebounds in 25.2 minutes over nine games. The two-way player will likely be out a couple of games, but without an official timeline, there's always the possibility he could return for either of Long Island's two contests (Friday and Sunday) to end the week.

Williams was a monster Tuesday, out-rebounding and out-scoring his opposite number throughout the evening. The two-way player hasn't done much at the NBA level yet this season, but he's a dominant force in the G League on any given night.
